The Head of Data & AI Platform is responsible for defining and executing CAE’s global strategy for its enterprise Data & AI Platform. This role leads a multi‑level team of managers and technical experts, ensuring the platform is scalable, secure, and aligned with CIO priorities. The position owns the platform portfolio—including capability roadmaps, KPIs, and service evolution—and plays a key role in driving global adoption of data and AI capabilities across CAE.

This leader acts as a strategic influencer across the enterprise, partnering with business units to secure investment, shape platform direction, and accelerate innovation. The role also represents CAE externally as a thought leader while ensuring strong operational execution, reliability, and continuous technological advancement.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Define, communicate, and execute the enterprise strategy for CAE's global Data & AI Platform, ensuring alignment with CIO and GTP level priorities.

  • Lead a multi level organization (managers and technical experts) and foster a high performance, scalable, succession ready team.

  • Own the platform portfolio, including capability roadmaps, service evolution, KPIs, and business outcomes such as adoption, efficiency, and stakeholder satisfaction.

  • Drive global adoption of data and AI capabilities by partnering across business units, securing investment, and ensuring operational excellence.

  • Establish the technical foundations enabling enterprise wide adoption of agentic AI and next generation data/AI capabilities.

  • Ensure the platform is secure, scalable, reliable, and deeply integrated across CAE's global operations.

  • Act as a strategic influencer, shaping enterprise level decisions and aligning cross functional teams around platform priorities and investments.

  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with technology vendors, cloud providers, and industry leaders to accelerate innovation.

  • Serve as an external ambassador and thought leader, representing CAE's Data & AI vision in industry forums, partner engagements, and strategic presentations.

  • Conduct continuous technology and industry watch to inform long term platform direction and maintain CAE's competitive edge.

  • Resolve escalated issues, negotiate complex trade offs, and ensure platform delivery and evolution remain aligned with strategic objectives.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10+ years in data, analytics, AI, or platform engineering, with 5+ years leading managers and multi-disciplinary technical teams.

  • Proven experience building and scaling enterprise platforms (data, AI/ML, cloud, analytics, or developer platforms).

  • Demonstrated success driving enterprise digital transformation or AI adoption across global, multi business-unit environments.

  • Strong expertise in modern data & AI architectures (cloud, lakehouse, streaming, MLOps, agentic AI foundations).

  • Ability to translate business needs into scalable platform capabilities, roadmaps, and operating models.

  • Deep understanding of security, governance, compliance, and enterprise integration patterns.

  • Skilled in driving platform reliability, scalability, cost optimization, and operational excellence.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leadership (CIO, GTP, business executives) on strategic technology decisions.

  • Expertise in change management and enabling enterprise wide adoption of new technologies.

  • Ability to represent CAE externally through industry engagements, partner interactions, and thought leadership.
