WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
The Head of Cyber Resiliency and Readiness, US provides implementation, and management of a comprehensive cyber resiliency strategy within US. As a senior team member of the US CISO function this role is pivotal in ensuring the US RBC organization’s critical systems and data are protected against cyber threats, and that the region is prepared to respond to and recover potential cyber incidents.
The Head of Cyber Resiliency and Readiness, US provides leadership to and responsible for rolling out Global Cyber Resiliency services into US business lines.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, security, risk management, and business continuity to enhance RBC US business cyber posture and readiness.
- Work with the CISO and GCS team members on building a threat informed risk oriented program
- Develop and own the regional cyber resilience strategy, roadmap, and operating model.
- Lead the assessment and enhancements of the region’s cyber resiliency and readiness capabilities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen cyber defense mechanisms and incident response protocols.
- Engage with GCS, IT, Risk, and Business Continuity to ensure adjustments are made where quality/value metrics are not achieved, when new services are onboarded, where services are decommissioned or where regional requirements must be delivered.
- Develop and implement an approach for matrix managing regional GCS colleagues who functionally align into enterprise line managers, ensuring local line management and leadership is in place. Partner with the US region to standardize approaches.
- Determine and provide reports to analyze service performance to ensure value in region (quality and cost); collaborate with GCS Strategic Initiatives team on transfer pricing and other aspects, which must be tied into service monitoring.
- Own the regional engagement model with TI to ensure TI dependencies enabling cyber service delivery in the region are identified, and the cross T&O operating relationship is managed and maintained.
- Act as a security advisor/ambassador across business platforms in region, identifying cyber security issues and partnering with service owners to define and implement solutions.
- Define and drive a standardization roadmap, to ensure targets for globalized cyber services are achieved in region. Partner with GCS strategic initiatives to build transformation business cases, for standardization or strategic remediation in region.
- Interact daily across all businesses on the full range of cyber service matters, providing guidance and support for security needs where necessary (or engaging broader GCS services for support)
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
Must have:
- 10+ years of proven cyber security experience (ideally at a consulting or ‘broad and shallow’ not deep SME level)
- 3+ years’ experience in strategic relationship management, delivery performance analysis, and negotiations.
- 2-4 years in the financial services or other regulated industries, working at the management level.
- Strong business and financial acumen plus operational mindset.
- Demonstrated ability to build sustainable, transparent relationships / partnerships, with the ability to coach and partner across a matrix organization.
- Strategic Thinker / Thought Leader
- Strong team leadership and people skills
- Ability to build and drive cyber strategies in region
- Understand RBC vision, as well as support and reinforce targeted behaviors that contribute to RBC goals

The good-faith expected salary range in NJ for the above position is $200,000-325,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs. This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
