Role Description

  • The Controls Testing and Assurance (CT&A) team is responsible for providing assurance testing on the design and operating effectiveness of the businesses’ control environment and adherence to applicable regulations and the Bank’s policies. CT&A develops and executes an annual, risk-based testing plan that covers the risk categories owned by Compliance & AFC, across all businesses globally. 
  • The role is for an VP within the data management, metrics and reporting team based out of Mumbai or Bangalore to support the Head of Professional Practice with all data, reporting and automation activities.

Your key responsibilities

  • Managing CT&A’s data management, metrics and reporting team (3 AVPs).
  • Own and deliver all global monthly and quarterly reporting requirements in a timely and accurate manner (this includes the ability to report accurately on numerical and qualitative updates including the ability to understand and develop quality insights into trends arising from CT&A metrics).
  • Interact with subject matter experts to identify, design, enhance and maintain metrics and reporting requirements for both internal and external stakeholders in an efficient and user-friendly way with the ability to consider all upstream and downstream data and system impact.
  • Understand standardized firmwide systems through which CT&A metrics interact with (i.e. Global Findings Management and Control Inventory Systems).
  • Manage and analyse large and complex data sets from multiple sources to map across differing taxonomies and identify prior CT&A coverage, possible issues/gaps across CT&A. 
  • Collaborate with various global Compliance & AFC, IT and CT&A teams to source and connect key data points in support of driving the development of new metrics for CT&A.
  • Actively support the business strategy, plans and values, contributing to the achievement of a high-performance culture.
  • Take ownership for own career management, seeking opportunities for continuous development of personal capability and improved performance contribution.

Your skills and experience

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computers/Mathematics/statistics
  • 12-15 years’ Banking or Financial Services experience with a minimum of 5 years experience within a Compliance, AFC or Operational Risk reporting and data analysis related role.
  • Understanding of structured and unstructured data, Data Visualization, Data Management, Data Quality Assurance and Data logic.
  • Understanding of Compliance, AFC or operational risk taxonomy and risk structures is key.  
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office suite is critical (Excel, Access, Ppower Ppoint etc.)  
  • Experience in Big Data Technologies, SAS, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, VBA and python is a strong plus.        
  • Experience in Compliance or AFC Testing/Assurance or Internal/External is an advantage.  
  • Strong team player with demonstrated ability in influencing and collaborating with peers and business leaders in addition to prior experience driving an accountable and high performing team.
  • Ability to evaluate and interpret information and reach logical fact-based conclusions and/or follow up on anomalies in the data.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be a self-starter, flexible, innovative and adaptive.
  • Highly motivated, strong attention to detail, team oriented, organized and thought leadership with a passion for improvement.
  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex problems and solutions through concise and clear messaging.
  • Proven experience interacting with and influencing senior stakeholders within a Global environment.
