About the Role 

We are seeking an experienced, commercially minded, and results-driven Head of Content to lead our content team and drive superior content strategy across multiple digital channels. This is a senior leadership role for someone who combines strategic thinking, operational excellence, SEO understanding, and strong people management skills. 

You will be responsible for shaping and executing a successful content strategy that supports business growth, organic visibility, audience engagement, and revenue objectives. Working closely with SEO, Commercial, Product, Design, and Social Media teams, you will ensure our content delivers measurable impact at every stage of the customer journey. 

Key Responsibilities 

Content Strategy & Leadership 

  • Develop and own the overall content strategy in partnership with the SEO department, aligned with company goals, audience insights, and market opportunities. 
  • Establish editorial standards, content governance, tone of voice guidelines, and quality benchmarks across all brands and platforms. 
  • Identify trends, competitor opportunities, emerging technologies, and content innovations to maintain market leadership. 
  • Build scalable content frameworks that support growth across multiple markets and products. 

Content Creation & Editorial Management 

  • Oversee the planning, creation, editing, and publishing of high-quality content including landing pages, money pages, reviews, blogs, guides, website copy, and campaign assets. 
  • Manage and optimize the editorial calendar to ensure consistent delivery and prioritization. 
  • Implement efficient workflows for briefing, production, approvals, publishing, and updates. 
  • Manage internal writers, editors, freelancers, agencies, and subject matter experts. 

Performance & Optimisation 

  • Define, monitor, and report on content KPIs including traffic, rankings, engagement, conversions, retention, and ROI. 
  • Use analytics and performance insights to continuously improve content effectiveness. 
  • Partner with SEO teams to maximise organic growth opportunities. 
  • Lead content audits, refresh programmes, and optimisation initiatives. 

Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration 

  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing content team. 
  • Foster a culture of accountability, creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement. 
  • Work closely with SEO, Commercial, Product, Design, Development, and Social Media teams to align priorities. 
  • Act as the internal expert on content strategy, editorial excellence, and content marketing best practices. 

CMS, Tools & Processes 

  • Oversee content operations across CMS platforms such as WordPress. 
  • Introduce and improve tools, AI workflows, automation systems, and processes to enhance productivity and quality. 
  • Ensure publishing accuracy, consistency, governance, and scalability. 

Additional Responsibilities 

  • Support wider business initiatives and undertake ad hoc strategic projects as required. 

Requirements 

  • Proven experience in a senior content leadership role (Head of Content, Content Director, Senior Content Manager, or similar). 
  • Strong understanding of SEO principles and search-led content strategy. 
  • Demonstrated success managing high-performing content teams. 
  • Excellent editorial judgment and content quality standards. 
  • Strong commercial mindset with experience driving measurable growth. 
  • Experience using analytics tools such as GA4, Search Console, AhrefsSemrush, or similar. 
  • Hands-on experience with CMS platforms, ideally WordPress. 
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills. 
  • Experience scaling content operations across multiple brands or markets is highly desirable.
