Summary
The Content Manager is responsible for the execution, coordination, and optimisation of digital content across global channels. This role translates the overarching content strategy into high-quality, audience-focused assets that support brand positioning, lead generation, and commercial growth.
Working closely with the Head of Content, Demand, Brand, Social, and regional marketing teams, the Content Manager ensures that all content is delivered on time, aligned with tone of voice, compliant with regulatory requirements, and optimised for performance.
This is a hands-on role requiring strong writing and editing capability, operational discipline, SEO expertise, performance analysis skills, and the ability to manage both internal and external contributors.
Key Responsibilities:
Content creation and delivery
- Write, edit, and proofread high-quality content across multiple formats, including blogs, eBooks, research reports, landing pages, website copy, email campaigns, scripts, and marketing collateral.
- Edit and format blog posts and web pages within the CMS (e.g. Optimizely).
- Ensure clarity, consistency, and audience alignment across all content.
- Maintain strict adherence to brand guidelines, tone of voice, and compliance standards.
Editorial planning and content calendar management
- Own and manage the global content calendar.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, subject matter experts, designers, and external contributors to ensure timely delivery.
- Develop and circulate clear content briefs aligned with campaign objectives.
- Manage competing priorities and ensure deadlines and quality standards are consistently met.
External writer and agency management
- Manage relationships with external copywriters, freelancers, and content agencies where required.
- Develop detailed briefs and provide clear strategic direction.
- Review, edit, and provide constructive feedback to ensure quality, consistency, and alignment with brand voice.
- Monitor delivery timelines, scope, and output standards.
- Ensure external partners adhere to compliance, tone of voice, and SEO requirements.
Content Optimisation and SEO
- Conduct keyword research and apply on-page SEO best practices.
- Optimise metadata, internal linking, structure, and readability.
- Perform regular content audits to ensure assets remain accurate, relevant, and search optimised.
- Repurpose and refresh existing long-form content to extend lifecycle value.
Performance analysis and reporting
- Monitor website analytics, search performance, and campaign engagement metrics.
- Analyse traffic, conversions, and content effectiveness.
- Produce performance reports with clear recommendations.
- Refine content workflows and strategies based on performance data.
Governance and quality control
- Ensure consistency of messaging across regions and platforms.
- Support compliance review processes where required.
- Maintain editorial standards and attention to detail across all outputs.
Team and stakeholder collaboration
- Manage external copywriters and freelance contributors.
- Collaborate closely with Brand, Demand, social media, and Field Marketing teams.
- Support continuous improvement of content processes and operational efficiency.
Skills and experience
- 5–8+ years’ experience in content marketing, editorial, or digital communications, ideally within financial services.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Native-level English proficiency (spoken and written) is essential.
- Experience managing freelance writers or content agencies.
- Strong understanding of SEO and content optimisation techniques.
- Experience managing editorial calendars and multi-channel campaigns.
- Familiarity with CMS platforms and marketing automation systems.
- Ability to analyse performance data and translate insights into action.
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
- Strong stakeholder and external partner relationship management abilities.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Adaptable and responsive in a fast-paced environment.
