Your Role 

As the Head of Content and Learning at OpenUp, you will lead the development and execution of a comprehensive content strategy across all formats, including learning content (Courses), masterclasses and intimate group sessions (Spaces), articles, and newsletters. In this role, you'll go beyond managing content: you’ll play a pivotal part in shaping the very formats of our offerings, such as defining and evolving the structure and delivery of our Courses and Spaces — core components of our product portfolio. 

You will oversee a talented team of seven (+ working students): 4 content specialists, a learning experience designer, a spaces specialist, and a video specialist. Your team (content and learning) is part of the product organization, focused on driving product usage and creating a positive impact on the customer experience. Your KPIs will include content engagement, product activation, attendance of Spaces and Courses, CSAT (end users and HR customers), but also website traffic and SEO performance. Although you’ll be reporting directly to the CPTO, you’ll work closely with the Customer Success and Marketing teams to support broader business goals. 

We’re looking for someone who is both highly strategic and operationally excellent. You’ll be comfortable thinking big-picture, driving innovation, and pushing boundaries in content formats. At the same time, you have the ability to get hands-on, ensuring content quality down to the smallest detail, acting as the chief editor to uphold OpenUp’s standards. You excel at managing processes and multiple stakeholders, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Strong leadership skills are essential, as you’ll need to motivate and guide your team while fostering collaboration across departments.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Content Strategy: Develop and implement a content strategy aligned with OpenUp's business goals, covering both B2B and B2B2E content, such as articles, videos, newsletters, and Spaces.
  • Grow our emerging formats: Lead the creation of new content formats, especially on e-Learning (Courses and Spaces), to expand our offerings and attract a larger user base. 
  • Content Calendar: Create and manage the content calendar to ensure timely and relevant content delivery, incorporating input from experts (psychologists and lifestyle experts), Customer Service, Marketing, and commercial teams.
  • Content Quality & Review: Ensure all content adheres to OpenUp's quality standards and aligns with our mental well-being focus through rigorous feedback and review processes.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with multiple teams (esp., Product, Marketing, Customer Success) to ensure cohesive messaging and alignment with business objectives.
  • Team Leadership: Manage a team of seven, including content specialists, a Spaces specialist, a Courses specialist, and a video editor. Foster a positive and productive team environment while optimizing processes and capacity planning.
  • Operational excellence: Ensure the team works efficiently by setting clear priorities, streamlining processes, and identifying opportunities for automation (e.g., through AI)
  • Data-Driven Decisions: Develop and use a data framework to assess content performance, identify trends, and inform future strategy.

About you 

You are a proactive, strategic thinker who thrives in fast-paced environments and loves pushing boundaries in content innovation. You are passionate about mental well-being and can serve as an ambassador for OpenUp’s voice. You possess strong people management skills, able to motivate your team and optimize processes effectively. You are comfortable with data, and you use it to guide content strategy and measure performance. You are comfortable adapting to rapid changes and making swift decisions to keep the content relevant and engaging. You have some experience with learning, as you will own the learning aspect of the content, creating impactful courses and educational materials. 

You also have: 

  • 8+ years of experience in content management and content strategy development (e.g. marketing, journalism, publishing, but also UX and product experience is a plus).
  • 3+ years of experience leading teams in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience with e-learning (masterclasses and online courses) is a big plus
  • Strong affinity for mental well-being.
  • Experience with AI-driven content creation and product thinking.
