We’re looking for a Head of Communications & PR, Italy to join our Rome or Milan team. This is a hybrid role. In this role, you’ll help us build our public narrative, elevate our brand positioning, and safeguard our reputation in a key international market.
What You’ll Be DoingYou’ll be joining the International Communications team, acting as a crucial strategic partner to the Italian General Manager and local leadership team.
Here’s what your day-to-day might look like:
Strategic Reputation Management: Plan and execute local communications and PR strategies that align with global goals, proactively shaping Consumer, Policy, and Merchant narratives across Italy.
Issues & Crisis Leadership: Lead crisis communications and manage sensitive topics, ensuring close alignment with local leadership and global teams during high-stakes situations.
Media Relations & Ambassadorship: Build trusted relationships with key Italian media, act as a spokesperson, and coach local leadership for interviews.
Agency & Digital Storytelling: Direct our local PR agency to deliver creative, digital-first B2B and B2C campaigns across earned and owned channels.
Cross-Functional Policy Alignment: Partner with Policy, Legal, Marketing, and Operations to translate complex platform and economic topics into compelling public messaging.
AI & Innovation: Leverage a range of AI tools to make your work more efficient, impactful, and creative.
Essential
Demonstrated PR Leadership: Significant experience leading external communications, crisis management, and media relations in-house or within an agency setting.
Bilingual Fluency: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both Italian and English, with proven ability to distill complex topics for diverse audiences.
Stakeholder & Agency Management: Proven ability to manage agency partners and navigate complex matrix environments with senior internal stakeholders.
Media Network: Established relationships with key media outlets, journalists, content creators and commentators in Italy.
Digital-First Approach: Experience leveraging social media platforms, online channels, and AI-driven tools to amplify media campaigns.
