The Role
You'll own PR, analyst relations, executive thought leadership and social. You'll work directly with our CEO and co-founder and sit at the center of marketing, connecting the analyst briefing, the press release, the customer story and the LinkedIn post so each one builds on the others. This is a senior, hands-on role: you'll set the strategy and do much of the work yourself, with agency and freelance support as we grow.
What You'll Own
- Analyst relations: build and run the Gartner, Forrester and IDC program: briefings, inquiry, research submissions and the path into the first reports that define our category.
- Media relations: set a steady news cadence across cybersecurity, industrial and business press, and be ready to comment fast when OT attacks hit the headlines.
- Executive thought leadership: turn our founders and leadership team into recognized voices through bylines, ghostwritten posts, speaking slots, podcasts and media training.
- Launches and announcements: lead comms for product launches, starting with the GA of our on-prem offering in early 2027, plus funding, partner and customer news.
- Social and employee advocacy: own Copia's LinkedIn presence and help leaders and sellers post well and consistently.
- Customer stories: work with sales and customer success to turn wins into case studies, references and press-ready stories.
- Agencies and measurement: choose and manage PR/AR partners and report on share of voice, coverage, analyst mentions and the pipeline they influence.
Your First 90 Days
- Audit our messaging, coverage and analyst relationships, then present a 12-month comms and AR plan.
- Set up a regular cadence with the Gartner and other analysts who already cover OT.
- Build the comms plan for upcoming product launches, including press, analyst briefings and customer proof points.
- Media-train the founders and land the first executive bylines and speaking slots.
- Launch a consistent LinkedIn program for the company and its leaders.
What You Bring
- 10+ years in B2B tech communications, ideally cybersecurity or enterprise infrastructure, including senior roles at high-growth companies.
- A track record in analyst relations, such as leading a Magic Quadrant or Wave submission and moving a company's placement.
- Strong relationships with security and tech press, and judgment about when to push a story and when to hold.
- Experience ghostwriting for executives and building their profiles.
- Comfort being a team of one at first: you write the release, pitch the reporter and run the briefing yourself.
- An integrated view, so PR, AR, social, content and customer stories work as one system.
- Interest in OT, industrial cybersecurity and the people who keep plants running. Experience in the space is a plus but not required.
- Travel: Up to 20% (events, press, analyst days)

What We Do
Copia is redefining how the world’s factories, energy systems, and infrastructure are built and maintained. Our Industrial Code Lifecycle Management Platform connects software engineering practices with operational technology, giving manufacturers resiliency with the visibility, control, and confidence they need to innovate safely. We’re engineers, builders, and problem-solvers driven by one mission: Keep industry moving forward. Copia is building the modern engineering platform for industrial automation. Industrial organizations operate critical infrastructure on PLCs, SCADA, and OT networks. These environments power manufacturing, energy, food production, and infrastructure worldwide. Most of them still rely on fragmented tooling and manual workflows that would not be tolerated in any modern software environment. Copia closes that gap. We bring the discipline of modern software engineering to operational technology teams, giving controls engineers and IT security teams the version control, change management, and operational resilience their environments demand. Two concepts define what we do: Industrial Code Lifecycle Management (ICLM) applies structured lifecycle practices to automation code and configuration management. Think DevOps for the plant floor. It enables industrial teams to manage PLC logic, configurations, and automation assets with version control, traceability, and controlled deployment processes. No more tribal knowledge. No more manual backups on USB drives. No more mystery around what changed, when, and who made the call. Operational Technology Disaster Recovery (OTDR) ensures automation systems can be rapidly restored after failures, cyber incidents, or operational disruptions. It covers backup validation, system restoration procedures, and resilience planning for industrial control systems. When ransomware hits or equipment fails, production gets back online in hours, not weeks. Together, ICLM and OTDR form the foundation for secure, resilient industrial automation environments. Copia is the platform that makes both operationally real.
