About the role

Tint is seeking a Head of Collectibles Insurance Programs to lead the strategy, development, and growth of insurance solutions serving the collectibles market, including fine art, trading cards, memorabilia, luxury goods, and other high-value assets.

This leader will own the design and scaling of insurance programs tailored to collectors, dealers, marketplaces, and custodians. Working closely with insurance carriers, brokers, marketplaces, and internal product and operations teams, you will architect innovative insurance solutions that address the unique risks of ownership, storage, valuation, and transaction of collectibles.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in specialty insurance (e.g., collectibles, fine art, inland marine, or high-net-worth personal lines), along with experience designing and launching insurance programs in partnership with carriers and distribution partners. This role is highly strategic and requires both insurance domain expertise and the ability to build and scale new market opportunities.

What you will do

  • Lead Collectibles Insurance Strategy: Define and execute Tint’s insurance strategy for the collectibles vertical, identifying market opportunities and developing scalable insurance solutions for collectors, dealers, and platforms.
  • Design and Launch Insurance Programs: Lead the design and launch of insurance programs for the collectibles market, including:
    • Program structure and architecture
    • Underwriting guidelines and eligibility criteria (e.g., item type, provenance, storage conditions)
    • Pricing and risk segmentation strategies
    • Policy forms, filings, and regulatory compliance
  • Build Carrier and Capacity Partnerships: Develop and manage strategic relationships with insurance carriers, MGAs, reinsurers, and brokers to secure sustainable capacity and competitive program structures for collectibles risks.
  • Expand Tint’s Presence in the Collectibles Ecosystem: Build relationships with marketplaces, auction houses, dealers, vault/storage providers, and collector communities to grow Tint’s customer base and develop embedded insurance opportunities.
  • Monitor Program Performance: Evaluate program performance across underwriting results, claims trends (e.g., theft, damage, fraud), and operational metrics, identifying opportunities to optimize profitability, risk management, and customer value.
  • Serve as Industry Subject Matter Expert: Act as Tint’s internal and external expert on the collectibles market, monitoring valuation trends, emerging asset classes (e.g., digital collectibles), regulatory considerations, and evolving insurance needs.
  • Represent Tint in the Market: Engage with carriers, brokers, marketplaces, and industry groups to position Tint as a leader in innovative insurance solutions for the collectibles industry.

You should apply if you have...

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in specialty insurance such as collectibles, fine art, inland marine, or high-net-worth personal lines.
  • Proven experience designing or launching insurance programs, including underwriting structures, filings, and carrier partnerships.
  • Strong understanding of risk characteristics for collectibles, including valuation, authentication/provenance, storage, transit, and fraud/theft risks.
  • Experience working with insurance carriers, MGAs, brokers, and reinsurers to structure insurance programs.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with product, engineering, operations, and sales teams.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to translate market opportunities into scalable insurance solutions.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across carriers, partners, and internal teams.
  • Experience operating in fast-paced environments, including startups, MGAs, or program administrators.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with embedded insurance, program business, or digital insurance platforms.
  • Familiarity with collectibles ecosystems such as marketplaces, auction houses, dealers, or vault/storage providers.
  • Experience with valuation models, appraisal processes, or data sources for collectibles pricing and risk assessment.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) or Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) is a plus.
  • Experience building or leading insurance programs serving collectors, dealers, or asset-backed portfolios.

What We Value Most in a Candidate

  • Culture is Key. Our team is remote first. We are a diverse, global team that works well together, even when we aren't in person. We are looking for self-motivated candidates who can stay motivated and focused. But don't worry, we're still social! We work collaboratively even though we are remote and travel to team and company retreats throughout the year.
  • Focused on Results. We are a fast-moving small team with big goals. We need team players that feel a sense of urgency to drive meaningful results for the business. We have clear company goals and a pathway to significant growth - and this role is integral to that journey.
  • Customer-first. Put yourself in the shoes of someone trying to buy our solution. We need a person who can empathize with our customers and help create strategies to continually improve the customer experience.
  • Adaptability. We're still an early-stage start-up, and things change quickly. If you are energized by learning and discovering on-the-go, this will be an excellent fit for you. We are looking for open-minded candidates that adapt well to changing environments as our company grows and scales.

We meet in person as a company twice a year to make sure we have time to connect in real life and get to have those conversations that are better done in person. These retreats are a mix of business and fun and we always choose a cool, central-ish location - think Barcelona, Playa del Carmen, Mallorca… Add on a few days of your flexible time off and you’ve *almost* got a free vacation somewhere cool!

Location

This role is fully remote, however our ideal candidate is located in the US. Please note that at this time Tint is unable to support candidates who require employer visa sponsorship.

What We Do

By making insurance feel like a natural part of the product experience, Tint enables platforms to create new revenue streams while deepening customer trust. Behind the scenes, our infrastructure manages the complexity—program design, regulatory compliance, claims, support—so coverage shows up at just the right moment, without adding friction. Tint’s flexible platform connects with ecosystem partners like GPS providers, payment systems, and telematics tools to build tailored, compliant programs that reflect real-world behavior. These integrations power more data-driven pricing, better loss ratios, and cleaner, more scalable portfolios—giving underwriters and insurers the confidence to back innovative programs, and the visibility to grow them responsibly. Trusted by forward-thinking companies like Turo, Deel, Guesty, and uShip—and backed by $30M in funding—Tint makes embedded insurance faster to launch, easier to manage, and better for everyone involved.

Why Work With Us

At Tint, we’re a remote-first, fast-moving startup with a diverse global team, big goals, and a customer-first mindset. We offer flexibility, ownership, epic company retreats, and a culture that values impact over hours. If you love autonomy, collaboration, and growth—you’ll thrive here.
