You:As a leader in our team, you will join us in our journey to design and deliver some of the most advanced medical robotic systems in the world. You will work closely with multi-functional teams to influence technical strategies, guide the development process, and deliver tangible results. This role offers significant leadership responsibility, growth opportunities, and the chance to have a significant impact on global healthcare.
Performance Objectives and Responsibilities:- Build and manage a high-performing clinical engineering team across all RAD programs.
- Establish clear performance standards and career paths; develop onboarding and training for technical and clinical excellence.
- Manage resource allocation and departmental budgets across multiple projects, aligning with strategic priorities.
- Develop and optimize processes that enhance efficiency, strengthen collaboration with R&D, and improve program outcomes
- Shape product strategies and roadmaps by ensuring clinical insights inform design decisions and are communicated effectively to leadership.
- Collaborate with physicians and industry experts to discover unmet clinical needs, establish customer requirements and provide clinical guidance to engineering design requirements.
- Provide clinical and technical expertise and guidance throughout the design, development, and testing phases of products’ lifecycles.
- Set the vision for risk management and design validation, ensuring alignment with global regulatory standards and patient safety objectives.
- Hold a degree in engineering (e.g. Biomedical/Bioengineering, Mechanical, Electrical) is required.
- Minimum of 10 years of clinical/technical experience in MedTech, with at least 5 years in leadership role managing teams is required.
- Expertise in requirements definition, clinical risk management and design validation strategies for sophisticated medical devices is required.
- Extensive knowledge of surgery, surgical procedures, and the OR environment is required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multi-functional teams, clinicians, and external partners is required.
- Advanced degree (MS, PhD, MD or equiv) is preferred.
- Solid understanding of relevant regulations and standards for medical devices and robotic surgery platforms, including FDA regulations and guidance, and IEC and ISO standards is preferred.
- Demonstrated success building high-performing, customer-facing technical/clinical teams and establishing scalable processes across multi-program environments is preferred.
- Have the ability to travel up to 15% of the time is required.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $189,000 - $326,025 Bay Area.
