We are currently looking for a Head of Client KYC Operations – GCC (India) to lead and scale the KYC operations function in India supporting global business for Apex Group Ltd. This is a senior leadership role reporting to the GCC Head of Client Onboarding and KYC. The role spans all products and services offered across the Apex Group and is accountable for delivering a robust, risk-based and client-focused KYC operating model.
Job Specification:
- Lead the Client KYC Operations team across India, ensuring consistent delivery, strong controls and alignment with the Group operating model.
- Create and lead a dedicated KYC projects capability focused on regulatory initiatives, remediation activity and alignment to the centralised operating model.
- Set the strategic direction for KYC Operations, translating Group priorities into clear plans, measurable objectives and sustainable delivery standards.
- Take responsibility for operational reporting from Group level through to individual Apex entity level.
- Ensure data is readily available, accurate and presented in a standardised format through the effective use of Power BI, Snowflake and other approved reporting tools.
- Attend and present KYC Operations updates and progress to Apex boards, governance forums and other applicable stakeholders.
- Utilise market-leading technology and continually develop system requirements to meet regulatory needs, strengthen controls, drive efficiencies and improve the client experience.
- Drive use of automation and AI within KYC processes to improve productivity, data quality and risk detection.
- Standardise the Client KYC model across the Apex Group, clearly differentiating requirements for regulated and non-regulated jurisdictions, products and client types.
- Lead the transition of Client KYC activities to a centralised model, including resource alignment of hi-lo centralised teams, capacity planning, role clarity and service delivery.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation for the centralised model, including key operating procedures, inter-group service agreements, process flows, governance artefacts and control evidence.
- Work in partnership with Compliance, Client Onboarding and business stakeholders to maintain a clear division between first and second lines of defence.
- Feed into the Business Review Committee process and ensure material open Client KYC points are resolved or appropriately escalated prior to Apex entering into a business arrangement.
- Act as senior escalation point complex KYC cases, operational issues, regulatory queries and stakeholder concerns.
- Rollout periodic updates, training and communication with compliance to ensure the Client KYC Operations team remains informed of policy, regulatory and procedural changes.
- Build, coach and develop a high-performing team.
- Ensure full alignment with the client onboarding process to facilitate seamless client experience and readiness for services to be delivered
- Adhere to all relevant client KYC standards applicable to Apex Group and local jurisdictions, ensuring requirements evolve in line with regulatory updates and compliance guidance.
Skills Required:
- at least 15 years of relevant professional experience, preferably gained in the financial services fund industry with a focus on client KYC
- Bachelor / master's degree in accounting, finance, economics and relevant KYC / AML qualifications
- Management experience, overseeing a large multi-jurisdictional team
- Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills and a truly client servicing mindset
- Experience with client KYC technology solutions and platforms
- Good sense of teamwork as well as the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced work environment
