Dioxycle is pioneering breakthrough carbon utilization technologies that convert industrial emissions into sustainable chemicals with unprecedented energy and cost efficiency. By displacing fossil fuels for the production of key chemicals, Dioxycle has the potential to ultimately reduce over 800 million tons of CO2 per year, representing over 2% of the world's emissions. 
 
At the core of our process is a novel "carbon electrolyzer", a machine capable of using just electricity and water to convert carbon emissions back into valuable everyday essential chemicals. Our team is innovating across chemical, mechanical and system engineering to turn carbon transformation into an economically feasible, industrial reality through this completely novel technological approach. Having completed our industrial-scale electrolyzer prototype, we are now working with our chemical and downstream offtakers towards First-of-a-kind plant deployment and subsequent commercial roll-out.
 
We are supported by world-class funders including Bill-Gates-founded Breakthrough Energy Ventures, Lowercarbon Capital and Gigascale Capital and have raised $40M to date. Your Mission
Dioxycle is seeking a talented and driven Head of Business Development/Business Development Manager to join our team at this pivotal phase of transition from in-house prototyping to commercial demonstration and roll-out. Partnering with the CEO, engineering and strategy teams, you will lead commercial partnership development efforts across all areas of the value chain. In this capacity, your responsibilities will center around:
 
Go-to-market and value proposition:
- Conduct customer discovery to best understand customer needs and priorities
- Contribute to refining of go-to-market strategy based on internal business intelligence and external customer engagement
Commercial partnerships:
- Spearhead the development of new commercial partnerships and negotiate agreements with key consumer brands and chemical industry players, positioning Dioxycle as a trusted provider of sustainable materials and an industry-defining brand
- Work hand-in-hand with legal counsel and the finance team to build creative commercial agreements
- Participate in trade shows and events to develop key relationships with targeted customers and relevant industry organizations
Effective Communication and Reporting:
- Deliver clear, concise and timely updates to all stakeholders, emphasizing project milestones, sustainability achievements, and strategic insights for ongoing improvement.
 
We seek a Head of Business Development who is dedicated to advancing our mission and possesses the skills outlined below. Candidates with 7+ years of relevant experience are encouraged to apply. We are ideally seeking a candidate who is based in, or open to relocating, to Paris, France.

Abilities and expertise we are looking for

  • 7-10+ years of relevant experience (e.g. business development in novel materials or chemicals, or sustainability consulting role)
  • Native-level English (French is not needed for the role)
  • Exceptional charisma and relationship-building skills
  • Chemical engineering/chemistry/general engineering background is preferred but not required
  • Deep understanding and interest for decarbonization

Skills Required

  • 7+ years of relevant business development experience (novel materials, chemicals, or sustainability consulting)
  • Native-level English
  • Based in or willing to relocate to Paris, France; able to work 100% on-site
  • Exceptional relationship-building and charisma
  • Experience sourcing, developing, negotiating and closing commercial partnerships and agreements with consumer brands and chemical industry players
  • Experience collaborating with legal counsel and finance to build commercial agreements
  • Deep understanding of and interest in decarbonization
  • Chemical engineering, chemistry, or general engineering background
