Ramp is building the smart infrastructure for finance teams, embedded in the transaction flow of every dollar a business spends. We automate how over $200B in annualized spend flows in and out of 70,000+ companies: authorizing payments, flagging risk, categorizing spend, and closing books.
The problems are high-stakes, data-dense, and unforgiving.
We hire people with high agency and high urgency. We look for slope over intercept. We care less about where you trained and more about what you’ve built. At Ramp, everyone is a builder who owns problems end to end and makes consequential decisions that shape the outcome.
The median Ramp customer saves 5% and grows revenue 16% in their first year – far in excess of businesses operating without Ramp. We believe every ambitious company deserves the same.
If you want to build systems that directly shape how companies move and manage billions, Ramp is the place to do it.
About the RoleWe're hiring a Head of Brand to set the direction for how Ramp shows up in the world.
The Brand team — ~10 designers, writers, motion designers, illustrators, and producers today — defines Ramp's identity across every surface our customers see: product launches, integrated campaigns, customer marketing, web, events, social, sales materials, and the product itself. We help the rest of the company move fast and ship beautifully by building the principles, systems, and standards that let us scale.
You'll lead this team. You'll set the visual identity and the voice. You'll build the AI pipelines that turn everyone else at Ramp into a good Brand Designer. You'll report to our VP of Design and work directly with our Co-CEOs to shape the future of the company. You'll also partner closely with leaders across Marketing, Product, Growth, and Recruiting to define strategy and execute against key business priorities.
We're looking for someone who's obsessed with five things:
Story. How we show up in the world. How we change the conversation around finance. Keeping our why and our customers at the center of everything we do.
AI. The systems that bake AI into every production capacity, until 90% of the cross-functional brand work is self-serve.
Operations. Predictable rails for a creative org that ships fast, cherishes feedback, and holds itself accountable — to designers and to partners.
Craft. Lead by making. Facilitate decisions. Evolve the brand.
People. Two jobs: build the system that develops and motivates the team we have, and partner with our people team to land the best designers in the world.
Please note that this role will require you to be comfortable with working in-person at our NYC HQ (located near Madison Square Park) at least 3 days/week.
Set the direction for Ramp's brand—its identity, voice, and narrative—across product, marketing, recruiting, and every customer touchpoint.
Lead and grow the team. Recruit exceptional designers and help every member of the team do the best work of their career.
Build the AI layer for Brand. Create systems and tools that automate production work at scale and empower non-designers to create on-brand assets.
Build the operating system for Brand: briefs, intake, reviews, decision-making, and production. Make work move fast without sacrificing quality.
Partner with the Creative Directors across Growth, Demand Generation, and Customer Marketing to set strategy and uphold a high bar for execution.
Lead by making when it matters—concept development, art direction, brand identity, and creative direction.
Deliver 2–3 brand-defining initiatives each year that strengthen Ramp's reputation and attract world-class talent.
Partner closely with Design, Marketing, Product, and executive leadership to ensure the Ramp brand is cohesive across every experience.
Manage agencies, freelancers, and production partners to extend the team's capacity as needed.
10+ years of experience in brand design and creative leadership, including at least 3 years leading a brand team at a high-growth technology company or top-tier agency.
A portfolio of brand work that shaped a company's reputation through identity systems, campaigns, or brand evolutions you led end-to-end.
A clear point of view on AI in creative production. You've shipped AI-assisted brand work, not just prototypes, and know what should be automated versus where human creativity matters most.
A track record of building and leading high-performing creative teams. You've hired exceptional designers, developed talent, and built teams that consistently deliver outstanding work.
Strong operational instincts. You've built scalable creative processes and can describe them clearly.
Exceptional craft across typography, color, layout, motion, and visual identity, with the ability to elevate the work of others.
A strategic mindset and strong creative judgment. You can give clear direction, make difficult decisions, and balance speed with quality.
Comfortable partnering with Marketing, Product, Recruiting, and executive leadership. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Comfortable giving and receiving thoughtful, constructive feedback.
Kind, curious, generous, low ego, and a great sense of humor!
