As the head of the Bioreactor Scale-Up team, you will have a pivotal role in setting the global vision and directions for the team and leveraging your expertise in modeling and simulation of cell culture processes to drive projects to success.
About the job
The Upstream Scale-Up team focuses on advanced modeling and simulation techniques to optimize and scale-up mammalian cell culture processes from customer requirements. Our unique internally developed bioreactor scaling model has received high recognition and acknowledgement within the global field of scale-up experts.
We offer a unique and exciting job, where you will be leading the upstream scale up team. You will ensure continuously development of the scaleup model and execute strategies for the scaling tool, be at the forefront of communication with customers around the world in relation to scaling of their processes. As no two clients are the same, you will get the chance to work with a broad range of biopharma companies. This will lay the foundation for continues innovation and improvement of the model.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the strategic vision for the scale-up team
Align with global scale-up teams to ensure unified strategies.
Develop and execute methodologies for scaling cell culture processes from bench top to large scale bioreactors across various FDB network sites, ensuring optimal mass transfer and hydrodynamic conditions in bioreactors at production scale.
Collaborate with cross-site Process Development Teams to transition laboratory processes to pilot and production scale within our KojoX initiative.
Serve as the primary point of contact to customers in relation to scaling of their processes. Build close collaboration to understand their unique needs, prove expert guidance and tailored solutions, fostering strong relationships and ensuring clear communication.
Analyze data and identifying areas for process improvement for ongoing programs in the production pipeline.
Stay informed on the latest advancements in bioreactor design and simulation.
Qualifications and experience:
A Ph.D. or MS.c in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering or similar with minimum 10 years of industry experience within bioreactor scale-up modeling and simulation of cell culture processes.
Preferably at least 3 years of managerial experience within biopharmaceutical industry, but not required.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication skills for customer interaction and team collaboration.
