We're looking for a hands-on, product-savvy technical leader who combines strong engineering and product capabilities with AI/ML expertise. As our Head of AI, you'll work with a talented team of engineers, helping our brands with all things AI - from ideation, through MVP to production-ready solutions. Our AI projects span across brand-specific products, internal productivity tools (such as our own private ChatGPT tool), or company-level solutions for various teams.

You'll be be heading a small and effective team of AI-engineers, servicing our brands with productization of AI features. This role combines discovery, hands-on development with technical leadership, offering the opportunity to shape both our AI implementations and our team's growth. You'll work alongside talented engineers who share your passion for innovation and technical excellence.

This role strong engineering expertise with a product and operational mindset. You are comfortable with communicating solutions and delivering the technologies, as a team, or as an individual contributor to our brands.

• Actively productize, develop and architect AI solutions for our brand portfolio - come up with creative AI product solutions that can be leveraged on one or multiple of our companies.
• Write, review, and ship production-ready code - ensure that the Central AI team delivers on its promise to provide robust solutions
• Lead and mentor a team of talented AI-engineers
• Champion AI adoption in engineering and other areas. Educate teams on cutting-edge tools - you are willing to leverage and share your knowledge at an organization level
• Build and maintain our AI infrastructure and platforms with the help of our Central Cloud Operations team
• Drive technical decision-making and set engineering standards

• Ideally a scientific university degree in (applied) Computer Science/AI/Machine Learning or equivalent
• Strong software engineering background with proven track record in Python and PyData ecosystem (pandas, scikit-learn, pytorch/tensorflow and many more)
• Strong theoretical and practical understanding of machine learning and statistics, using analytical and logical thinking skills
• We love to put ML in production so we expect you to have some experiences with cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud) and typical production pipelines (FastAPI, Docker)
• Demonstrated ability to balance innovation with practical solutions
• Leadership abilities and team mentoring experience, with great communication skills - you will be the advocate of AI excellence at saas.group
• Passion for staying current with AI developments and sharing knowledge
• Strong Team ownership (including budget and cost ownership)
