The Role

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a visionary and execution-focused AI / Generative AI Product Leader to join the AI Innovation & Modeling (AIM) group within the Chief Administrative Office (CAO)  and drive the strategy, development, and delivery of cutting-edge AI-powered products. You will lead cross-functional teams to build scalable, ethical, and user-centric solutions leveraging the latest in machine learning, large language models (LLMs), and generative AI technologies.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead specialized teams of AI / GenAI product owners
  • Define and own the COO/CAO AI / GenAI product roadmap aligned with business goals. Identify market opportunities and customer pain points.
  • Oversee the full product lifecycle from ideation to launch. Collaborate with engineering, data science, and design teams.
  • Translate AI/ML capabilities into user-facing features. Stay current with LLMs, multimodal models, and GenAI frameworks (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Hugging Face, LangChain).
  • Champion responsible AI practices and ensure regulatory compliance in all AI / GenAI products
  • Resolve complex issues and lead initiatives with enterprise-wide impact.
  • Lead AI / GenAI initiatives for the COO/ CAO with significant scope and impact.
  • Establish AI / GenAI programs including investment prioritization and performance tracking.
  • Drive long-term, innovative AI solutions requiring advanced analytical thinking.
  • Articulate strategy at the executive level and drive cross-enterprise collaboration.
  • Serve as a strategic liaison across the COO/ CAO organization and enterprise partners.

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of Artificial Intelligence solutions experience, or equivalent experience demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of management or leadership experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership in AI / GenAI product roles
  • Deep understanding of ML, LLMs, and GenAI technologies
  • Experience managing specialized teams and large-scale programs
  • Strong strategic, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Expertise in responsible AI practices and regulatory alignment

Job Expectations:

  • This position offers a hybrid work schedule
  • This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship
  • Candidate must reside within a reasonable commute to a location listed in the posting

San Francisco - pay range: $207,900 - $431,900

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
