Reporting to the Agency Development Executive, the Head Agency Development will be responsible for driving performance, growth and development of the Agents and Leaders, through mentoring and coaching programs to deliver on the set targets. He/she will be responsible for designing sales activities (where to sell) developing sales skills (How to sell) and maintaining effective performance management framework. Important key business metrics to meet are quality recruits, active agents, new business, premium income, product mix, persistency target and growing agents monthly average earnings.
As the ideal resource for this role, the successful candidate will be an ardent team player, with excellent people development skills and an analytical mind-set, proactive and self-driven, with ability to coach and develop more leaders to take on the leadership mantle in respective teams.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Recruit, supervise and ensure achievement of monthly sales Plans for all Leaders and Development officers across all branches/ regions.

  • Oversee the overall management of various Agency offices in their regions including HR Roles, risk management and internal business processes within the unit.

  • Implement agency Sales plans to achieve set targets and objectives
    -Active agents (Manpower) targets
    -Agents’ productivity
    -New business converted cases
    -Premium income targets (APE)
    -Average income targets
    -Product mix targets
    -
    Persistency
    -Growth of Leaders in the branch
    -
    MDRT targets

  • Drive Coaching and mentoring programs for Leaders improving Team performance, based on monthly score card results.

  • Supervise implementation of Leader Daily Vital Behaviours; Sales activation programs; and effective agency meetings.

  • Lead Monthly and quarterly reviews of Leaders and cascade the same skill to Leaders on their agents.

  • Drive Brand consistency and maintain healthy business persistency.

  • Growth of pay-points and check-off relationships, opening new markets, and deepening nesting strategies.

  • Supervise business conversion, coordination of new business launching, and collections of new premiums.

  • Develop & nurture the agents into team leaders and team leaders to Agency Supervisors.

  • Oversee ‘Performance Improvement’ programs for the non-performers per month.

  • Consistently grow agents’ earnings as per target.

  • Enforce agency standards, code of ethics and discipline within the team leaders.

  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Reporting

  • Provision of a weekly accurate reporting on all the key metrics and activities within teams and branches.
     

Core Competences and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution.

  • Possession of a professional qualification in insurance or in progress towards attaining it.

  • Minimum of 5 years work experience in the insurance Industry.

  • Sales experience in agency management or related field

  • Stakeholder relationship management skills.

  • People development skills.

  • Organizational skills.

  • Effective execution skills.

  • Ability to successfully. work in a high activity, fast paced environment.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Good track record of management skills.

  • Good reporting skills.
