OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE:
- Lead and manage multiple teams responsible for advanced technology services globally.
- Drive the development and implementation of advanced technologies across various domains.
- Provide strategic direction and leadership as a senior technology director.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Lead and manage teams responsible for delivering advanced technology services globally.
- Drive the development and implementation of cutting-edge technologies, including but not limited to cloud computing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and big data analytics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful deployment of automated infrastructure and software solutions.
- Ensure the quality and security of deployments, including proper key management, encryption, and detection.
- Manage and collaborate with third-party operations teams to deliver high-quality services.
- Ensure the steady operation of advanced technology capabilities globally.
- Serve as the lead for implementing and deploying artifacts for advanced technology products.
- Work independently and collaboratively to solve complex technology problems.
- Automate tasks for software and infrastructure deployment and monitoring.
- Design, build, and deploy complex systems and products to deliver value to the organization.
- Demonstrate advanced tooling and techniques to technical teams across the company.

- Ability to manage multiple 3rd party operations providers to deliver at appropriate levels of quality, response times, stability and agility.
- Ability to work with DevOps engineers across Takeda in a modern Ecosystem of Products, Platforms, Analytics and Microservices to give Takeda a modern footprint.
- Align and Drive our Agile and DevOps driven operations groups to a better end-state, for R&D and set an advisory example for the rest of Takeda.
- Manage and collaborate with third-party operations providers to deliver high-quality services.
- Work with cross-functional teams to drive the organization's technology strategy.
- Provide strategic direction and leadership as a senior technology director.

- Ability to drive our third-party support teams to maintain a stable analytics ecosystem. It will require the need to make tactical decision when needed to our operational environments.

- Drive advanced technology development and implementation, staying at the forefront of emerging technologies.
- Manage and optimize the budget for R&D activities, ensuring resources are allocated effectively.
- Determine and implement useful emerging technologies on a global scale, driving innovation and efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional team members, including Data Engineering, Data Scientists, Functional Leads, Business Partners, Product Owners, and others, to align efforts and achieve shared goals.
- Reinforce and coordinate with other DevOps engineering organizations to ensure seamless integration and coordination of technical aspects across the ecosystem.
- Engage with Enterprise Architecture, other DevOps teams, Platform Teams, Functional Data Teams, and Quality Teams to ensure the harmonious coexistence of Data Engineering services with other best practices and deployments.

- Ability to work with other cutting-edge teams, including Data Engineering and AI, to drive future state capabilities that tend to involve work that may be unknown in the beginning.

- Drive complex deployments from Design to implementation and finally deployment. Many of these solutions are difficult to make stable at scale.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience (Master's Degree preferred).
- 15+ years of experience as a technical specialist or relevant project work, with a focus on global impact.
- Proven experience in managing outsourced operations teams as a virtual operations team, with a track record of successful collaboration and delivery.
- Strong understanding of scripted deployment scripts, including Ansible, Cloud Formation, Puppet, or Chef, with the ability to design and implement efficient deployment processes.
- Extensive working knowledge of both Hadoop and HPC environments, with a deep understanding of their architecture and best practices.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of IAAS environments, with a strong focus on AWS and its services.
- Experience managing advanced data platforms, including NoSQL databases (such as MongoDB) and SQL databases (such as PostgreSQL, MySQL), as well as Spark environments.
- Proficiency and understanding of Docker and other container-based services, with the ability to design and implement containerization strategies.
- Ability to thrive in an agile and rapidly changing environment, delivering high-quality results within tight deadlines.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with global teams and stakeholders.

U.S. Base Salary Range:
$169,400.00 - $266,200.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
