Head of Accounting

This Head of Accounting  role is a key management position reporting to the CFO to lead a financial management function that enables efficient, profitable growth and has primary day-to-day “hands on” responsibility for financial and operational reporting. The Head of Accounting  is responsible for overseeing the accounting operations of the company, leading the accounting team, establishing internal processes and controls that ensure accurate, compliant and timely financial transactions and reporting. The Head of Accounting  will work closely with the CFO to ensure processes and systems provide business intelligence to enhance data driven business decisions and support the company’s growth and profitability. The Head of Accounting  needs to be “operations focused” with a multi-location commercial operation and disbursed workforce. The Head of Accounting  will partner with the CFO in performing due diligence for M&A activities and post-acquisition integration processes. The Head of Accounting  is expected to be a true “business partner” and work effectively across all functional areas of the company and enhance its culture internally as well as with customers, suppliers, and key third parties.

Key Responsibilities and Expected Functions

• Oversee the performance of the corporate and operational accounting staff (12 individuals) and provide guidance to accounting resources in all locations (Addison, Houston and India).
• Ensure the Company’s adherence to generally accepted accounting principles with thorough review of each area, provide recommendations and implement new processes. Key areas include revenue recognition and internal software development.
• Develop and maintain procedural documentation and a robust system for internal controls for accounting functions in US and India.
• Establishes sound internal financial management control systems and develops procedures to continuously improve internal controls and proactively focuses on continuous improvement in financial and operational management and reporting.
• Oversees and ensures timely and accurate processing of transactions and accounting data and ensures legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions.
• ‪Perform monthly, quarterly and annual closing procedures and perform Balance Sheet review reconciliations monthly.
• Partner with the head of FP&A to deliver timely and accurate financial information and insights regarding the performance of the business, especially in the areas of revenue, cost accounting and OPEX.
• Manages annual audit process and coordination of preparation of external audit materials, external GAAP financial reporting and all tax compliance and reporting.
• ‪Supervise the preparation of annual audited financial statements including note disclosures and responsible for the preparation of monthly and quarterly bank reporting package.
• Tax and transfer pricing oversight.
• Managing bank accounts and internal treasury activities including bank covenant reporting and cash and liquidity forecasting.
• Coordinate financial due diligence on prospective acquisitions and manage multiple aspects of the integration process, ensuring smooth integration of accounting functions, systems and reporting disciplines.
• Support the CFO and executive management in preparing for and executing the company’s eventual sale process.
• Assists in the preparation of ongoing Board packages.
• Other duties as assigned.
