Head of Accounting

 We're looking for someone who:  

• Fully ACCA qualified or in the final stages/Chartered Accountant (ACCA or equivalent)
  with experience in applying IFRS and local standards in a complex and regulated
  environment;
• 3-5 years of experience in a relevant senior accounting role; (understanding of online
  gambling business will be an advantage)
• Team management experience;
• Proficiency in English and Maltese language;
• Working knowledge of Accounting systems; (Dynamics 365 knowledge will be an
  advantage);
• MS Office excellent (Advanced in Excel)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
• A structural and logical approach to solving problems

What you'll be doing? 

• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including:
  - month and end-year process
  - accounts payable/receivable
  - cash receipts
  - general ledger
  - payroll and utilities
  - revenue and expenditure variance analysis
  - capital assets reconciliations
  - trust account statement reconciliations,
  - check runs
  - fixed asset activity
  - debt activity
  - intercompany transactions and reconciliation
• Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements
  aligned with IFRS and local standards
• Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
• Ensure compliance with group and local standards and oversee audits
• Provide recommendations
• Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
• Provide direction and guidance to the accounting team to ensure compliance and 
  accuracy of financial data
• Meet financial accounting objectives
• Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions
