- Prepares monthly financial statements including related statistics and analytical schedules in a timely and accurate manner and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Establishes and monitors systems of internal control.
- Reviews and/or prepares general ledger account reconciliations.
- Reviews and/or prepares monthly journal entries.
- Develops and maintains processes to accurately account for bad debt reserves and third-party contractual allowances.
- Prepares required federal, state and local tax returns.
- Assists in the preparation of annual budgets and provides support to department managers.
- Assists/Prepares analysis of departmental financials as needed.
- Develops supporting information for the annual HCAP, Medicare, and Medicaid cost reports.
- Manages the support for the annual independent audit.
- Protects confidentiality and privacy, including but not limited to, HIPAA policies, proprietary and financial information.
- Protects confidentiality and privacy, including but not limited to HIPPA policies and proprietary and financial information.
- Maintenance of data necessary to prepare Benchmarking report on Excel.
- Performs other projects and analysis as assigned.
- Responsible for abiding by and adhering to all HDH Corporate Compliance Program initiatives and standards.

Bachelor’s degree in accounting required. Minimum of 3 years experience as an accountant required. Peferred experience 3 years as an accounting manager in an acute care facility or assistant controller in an acute care organization including experience with a broad range of diversified healthcare services. Competencies needed for the position include enhanced accounting skills, written and oral communication skills, supervisory skills. Knowledge of automated accounting systems and proficiency with Excel. PowerPoint, and Word. Ability to maintain the professional standards of the Accounting department.
