Job Purpose
The role supports the effective implementation, management and development of HCUK’s Enterprise Risk Management and Enterprise Control and QA Assurance frameworks. This includes supporting business decision‑making, embedding governance and controls, monitoring risks across the organisation, and strengthening the company’s risk and control culture within an FCA‑regulated environment.
Key Accountabilities1. Strategic and Operational Risk Management
- Support the development, operation and enhancement of HCUK’s Enterprise Risk Management and Control Assurance frameworks.
- Assess, monitor, and report on risk and control performance across all business areas.
- Maintain risk, control, policy and QA registers.
- Embed the risk appetite and governance frameworks throughout the organisation.
- Identify, assess and test key controls; perform quality assurance and control testing activity.
- Drive forward the organisation’s risk and control culture.
- Support and deliver risk‑related and strategic projects.
2. Technical Knowledge
- Maintain up‑to‑date awareness of relevant FCA regulations, QA expectations, industry standards and best practice.
- Refine and improve risk policies, procedures, measures, KPIs and operational processes.
- Act as a SME on risk, controls, QA and assurance matters.
3. Communication and Reporting
- Produce high‑quality MI reporting suites, dashboards and committee documentation.
- Support committee and governance forums, including preparation of packs and minute‑taking.
- Maintain effective communication with HCUK departments, internal auditors, OEM partners, SCUK teams and Hyundai Capital Services.
4. Outsourced Oversight
- Support oversight, control testing and performance monitoring of outsourced activities and SCUK‑related processes.
- Review KPI and SLA performance where required.
5. Insight and Continuous improvement
- Contribute to ongoing effectiveness reviews of risk and control measures, processes and departmental performance.
- Recommend and support improvements to enhance governance, compliance and risk mitigation.
6. Risk, Conduct and Compliance
- Identify risks, incidents, breaches and control weaknesses.
- Support oversight of operational and conduct risk, ensuring alignment with FCA requirements and HCUK approach.
7. Responsible use of AI
- Use approved AI tools confidently and effectively to support delivery of role objectives, ensuring outputs are accurate, appropriate, explainable and compliant with company policies, data protection requirements, risk and compliance obligations, and any applicable guidance.
- Proactively maintain and develop AI competency relevant to the role, identifying opportunities to use AI safely and effectively to improve quality, efficiency and decision-making.
8. Other
- Deputise for Head of Enterprise Risk.
- Complete any other duties reasonably requested in line with the role and within the capability of the job holder.

Required Experience and Expertise
Given the scope of this position within an FCA-regulated environment, the job holder must have some relevant experience, with additional desirable experience set out below:
Must-have experience
- Some experience in risk, controls, QA, assurance, governance or compliance within a regulated environment.
- Practical experience of working with business processes, controls, policies, procedures, reporting or management information.
- Comfortable engaging with stakeholders and supporting delivery across multiple workstreams.
Desirable experience
- Experience in enterprise-wide risk, controls or QA roles within financial services, with automotive finance experience desirable.
- Knowledge of FCA compliance, conduct risk, Consumer Duty or treating customers fairly requirements.
- Experience with governance frameworks, policy management, control testing, risk mitigation or assurance activity.
- Understanding of operational processes, underwriting, sales channels, outsourcing oversight or financial controls.
- Has the appropriate level of education and preferably qualified or part-qualified or studying towards a recognised risk management qualification.
Other Information
- HCUK employees are currently hybrid working [mixture of home / office]. HCUK’s head office is in Reigate, Surrey. A minimum of two office days per week is required.
- The position may require domestic travel from time to time.

Remuneration Package
- Starting salary of approximately £37,000 - £40,000 dependant on experience and expertise
- Eligible for annual bonus, based on company and individual performance
