Job Title : HBS Japan Technical Sales
Business : Polyurethanes Asia Pacific Region
Reports to : HBS Japan Manager
Location : Kawasaki
2. Job Purpose:
As a key team member in Japan, this position will primarily drive field technical service for Huntsman Building Solutions (HBS) and grow spray polyurethane foam (SPF) sales in Japan. The position will also be responsible for related component business. The role of this position is to successfully manage the Route-to-markets (distributor, dealer, and direct sales) within the industry to quickly maximize sales for the next several years and achieve budget and sales goals, including value creation.
3. Dimensions
Responsible for SPF business (70% Sales and Field technical service) and core PU business (30% Sales)
- To manage existing business and expand our market share by acquiring new customers.
- To achieve the target in an ethical and compliant manner.
- Internal working parties: Sales team, Technical team, Supply chain team, Marketing team, Production team.
4. Principal Accountabilities:
Performance Improvement & Environment Safety and Health (EHS)
- To formulate and implement product stewardship plan.
- To ensure compliance with EHS standards and targets.
Sales and new business development
Maintaining existing customers: One of the primary targets is to maintain and grow our existing customer base. This involves building strong relationships with customers, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring that customers are satisfied with our products and services.
Developing new business: Another important target is to develop new business by identifying potential customers and building relationships with them. This can involve networking, attending trade shows and conferences, and using other marketing strategies to reach out to potential customers.
Meeting sales targets: To achieve specific sales targets, which may include a certain amount of revenue or number of units sold within a certain time frame.
Provide expert technical support to secure both existing and new business, diagnosing root causes of production issues and advising on effective solutions.
Providing feedback: To provide feedback to the company on market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity, which can be used to improve our products and services.
5. Required Education/Knowledge/Skills/Experience
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Engineering preferred.
Knowledge:
< >Knowledge and experience in the Japanese chemical industry and insulation installation.Strong analytical, interpersonal, negotiation, and influencing skills; strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and proven decision-making capabilities.
Experiences:
- Minimum of 3-5 years' sales experience in chemical products, ideally with a construction material manufacturer or trading company.
- Engineering background or technical understanding is a plus.
- Good command of English is a plus.
