Description

We are excited to be adding more staff to the Community Haven House, located in downtown Eau Claire. This role would be focused on providing care and service to guests of the Community Haven House. The ideal candidate loves to work with others and has the ability to navigate difficult situations in a calm and professional manner. If this is you, let us know by submitting an application!

Position Objective: maintain a safe home environment to the guests, consistent with our culture and code of conduct, while providing support and hospitality to guests.

Classification: FT / Nonexempt

Supervisor: Haven House Manager

Qualifications include:

• Alignment with Hope Gospel Mission’s faith statement.

• Healthy self-care due to the heavy nature of the work.

• The ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, not frequently.

• Experience with addiction recovery and/or counseling and/or case management preferred.

• Experience with trauma-informed environment and adverse childhood experiences preferred.

• Strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills.

• Ability to navigate crisis in a calm and professional manner.

• Computer literate.

• Current driver’s license and ability to meet approval requirements of HGM’s insurance company for driving mission vehicles.

Responsibilities include:

• Getting to know the guests, building relationships, and learning about their goals, dreams, and needs.

• Encouraging the guests to move toward their wellness.

• Assisting guests in finding and connecting to resources that will help them with their next steps.

• Working with the guests as necessary to navigate through or remove any barriers between them and the necessary services.

• Operational duties such as administrative tasks, answering the phone, assisting walk-ins, checking guests in and out, dispensing food, answering questions, and providing customer services to the guests, etc.
