Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking a Hardware Test Engineer - Level 2 or 3 to join our MEP organization in Oxnard, CA. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.

As a Hardware Test Engineer, you will design, develop, and implement testing methods and equipment. You will plan and coordinate the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating both standard and special devices. You will compile and analyze test data and define changes required in testing equipment, test procedures, manufacturing processes, or new test requirements. You will be responsible for testing all customer samples and for conducting special tests that cannot be performed in the standard test area.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Perform product testing in close collaboration with all parts of the Operating Unit, including test planning, coordination, setup, execution, data reduction, test reporting, and post-test data processing.
• Perform integration of products with test tooling, software, equipment, and instrumentation.
• Support test data collection, post-test data review, reporting, and verification of test requirements.
• Support technical writing activities to produce clear and accurate test documentation.
• Participate in and present at internal and external (customer) reviews.
• Leverage modern tools and methods to reduce the cost and schedule of product testing.
• Be accountable to the Operating Unit Operations Test Engineering Manager for meeting Operations Test Engineering safety, quality, delivery, and cost expectations of internal and external customers across the entire product value stream.
• Must be able to support working multiple shifts; i.e., 1st shift 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 2nd shift 2:30 p.m. to midnight.
This requisition may be filled at either a Level 2 or Level 3 based on the qualifications listed below.
Basic Qualifications – Hardware Test Engineer (Level 2):
• Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline with 2+ years of test engineering experience; OR a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline with 0 years of experience.
• Experience troubleshooting test equipment, test tooling, and test harnesses.
• Experience with test automation or other lean manufacturing/testing methodologies.
• Demonstrated technical writing and/or procedure development skills.
• Ability to travel between the Oxnard, CA, and Goleta, CA, sites and travel to support customers, as needed, approximately 10%.
• U.S. Citizenship.

• Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline with 5+ years of test engineering experience; OR a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline with 2+ years of the stated experience.
• Experience troubleshooting test equipment, test tooling, and test harnesses.
• Experience with test automation or other lean manufacturing/testing methodologies.
• Demonstrated technical writing and/or procedure development skills.
• Ability to travel between the Oxnard, CA, and Goleta, CA, sites and travel to support customers, as needed, approximately 10%.
• U.S. Citizenship.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Demonstrated proficiency in test automation software (e.g., LabVIEW or similar) for product testing.
• Demonstrated proficiency in measuring and controlling various electronic components such as motors, actuators, positional sensing devices, and load transducers.
• Experience in the aerospace or aeronautical industry.
• Excellent communication skills – presentation, oral, written, and listening.
• Self-motivated with the ability to organize and prioritize assignments and tasks effectively.
• Demonstrated proficiencies in methods such as Jira & Confluence

Primary Level Salary Range: $83,400.00 - $125,200.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $103,600.00 - $155,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
