About the Role:
As a Hardware Quality Data Analyst at Latch, you will play a critical role in leveraging data to
enhance the reliability and performance of our hardware products. Your primary focus will be on
analyzing datasets to predict failure modes, estimate product lifetimes, and identify trends in
product performance. Your insights will guide design improvements, shape testing procedures,
and inform product development strategies. We are seeking a detail-oriented professional with
strong expertise in data analysis, statistical modeling, and predictive maintenance. Your work
will be instrumental in shaping the quality and performance of Latch’s products, significantly
contributing to our reputation for excellence and reliability in the market.
Responsibilities: 

  • Analyze large datasets to identify patterns, trends, and potential failure modes in hardware products.
  • Develop predictive models to forecast product reliability and failure rates.
  • Perform statistical analyses to support decision-making processes and validate model predictions.
  • Own hardware quality data. Design, optimize, and refine data collection processes related to device failures and returns to ensure comprehensive and actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect relevant data, address hardware issues, and optimize product designs.
  • Generate detailed reports and visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of corrective actions and improvements based on data-driven insights.
  • Maintain and update databases of hardware performance metrics and failure reports.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in data analysis, statistical modeling, and predictive analytics.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages such as Python.
  • Experience with data visualization software like Tableau, Deepnote, or Looker.
  • Strong understanding of statistical techniques and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with database management systems and querying languages (e.g., SQL).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate complex data findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with hardware systems and reliability engineering is a plus.
