Job Summary & Responsibilities
- Lead hardware failure analysis and troubleshooting activities at system, board, and component level to identify technical root causes of quality, reliability, and performance issues.
- Execute electrical measurements, laboratory testing, verification activities, and failure reproduction to investigate complex issues impacting semiconductor test systems throughout development, manufacturing, and customer operation.
- Analyze customer, manufacturing, supplier, and field quality issues to identify recurring failure mechanisms, systemic risks, and opportunities for sustainable quality improvement.
- Collaborate with Hardware R&D, Software R&D, Operations, Global Support, and suppliers as a technical bridge to accelerate issue resolution and improve overall product quality and reliability.
- Support qualification and validation activities for new products, components, design changes, and manufacturing processes while ensuring compliance with quality and reliability requirements.
- Utilize quality, reliability, and operational data to identify trends, assess risks, and provide data-driven recommendations that enhance product performance and customer satisfaction.
- Document and communicate technical findings, promote organizational learning, and translate investigation outcomes into engineering best practices, continuous improvement initiatives, and competency development across the organizations challenges.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a comparable technical qualification. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
- Proven experience in hardware failure analysis, troubleshooting, quality engineering, manufacturing support, or test engineering.
- Strong understanding of analog and digital electronics, electronic assemblies, system architectures, and the interpretation of schematics and technical documentation.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory and measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies, logic analyzers, and related diagnostic tools.
- Experience working in cross-functional environments involving engineering, manufacturing, service, and supplier organizations.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical experts and management.
- Fluent English language skills and willingness to travel internationally (approximately 10%).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience within the semiconductor industry, electronics manufacturing, or Automated Test Equipment (ATE).
- Knowledge of reliability engineering, component qualification, failure mechanisms, and quality management systems.
- Experience supporting contract manufacturers, supplier quality activities, and manufacturing process improvements.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with experience applying structured methodologies such as 8D, RCA, A3, FMEA, Six Sigma, or comparable approaches.
- Experience with data analysis, statistical methods, and visualization tools such as Spotfire, Power BI, Tableau, JMP, or similar platforms.
- Understanding of the Advantest V93000 tester platform.
- German language skills.
Skills Required
