As a Product Compliance Project Manager, you will work cross-functionally with WHOOP Hardware Engineering, Growth, Legal, Supply Chain, and Operations teams as you refine and drive the regulatory compliance and certification process for hardware products. You will manage projects related to wireless, EMC/EMI, safety, labeling, and environmental regulatory compliance in domestic and international markets. You will work directly with global test labs and certification bodies to enable products to launch on time and in compliance with all regulatory requirements by region. This role is pivotal in unlocking access to the WHOOP product in global markets.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the project management of regulatory compliance efforts for both market expansion & new hardware development. This includes collating requirements, building & driving schedules from pre-screen testing through full certification for each market/region.
  • Develop & drive global certification plans for new and existing hardware products. 
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of compliance processes, of artifacts required for regulatory approval, and of certification records. 
  • Work with the Hardware Engineering Project Managers to ensure regulatory considerations are incorporated early in New Product Introduction and Continuous Improvement programs.
  • Establish relationships with external certification bodies and regulatory authorities to execute on project requirements across multiple countries
  • Work with the regulatory compliance manager to ensure regulatory risks and tradeoffs are clearly communicated to executive management.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Operations, and Legal teams to ensure execution of regulatory requirements in regards to labeling, translation, environmental, and extended producer responsibility.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4+ years experience managing compliance projects with at least one submission and approval in international markets
  • At a minimum, you should have an interest in working with hardware products. It’s preferred that you have experience working with consumer electronics.
  • Familiarity with global regulatory requirements for consumer electronics across wireless, EMC/EMI, safety, environmental, packaging, labeling, and shipping. Willingness to learn where there might be gaps in knowledge or experience.
  • Self motivated and proactive, demonstrating creative and critical problem solving capabilities in a collaborative team environment
  • Ability to travel 5-10%

This role is based in the WHOOP office located in Boston, MA. The successful candidate must be prepared to relocate if necessary to work out of the Boston, MA office.
