This role comes with high expectations, but you’ll be working alongside experienced engineers in a highly collaborative environment.

If we meet our project milestones, there’s a strong possibility of this role being extended or turning into a permanent position.

Your Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop and conduct tests, experiments, and studies
  • Production and contract manufacturing support (eg, manufacturing files, gerber files, etc.)
  • System and board bring-up, debugging, verification and validation
  • Proactively manage issues and schedule
  • Detailed reporting & documentation

Your Experience So Far:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical/ computer engineering or related field
  • 7-10 years schematic capture and PCB layout experience (Cadence OrCAD/ Allegro preferred, others will be considered)
  • Experience developing electronics for a medical device involving FPGA, MPU, MCU, high speed ADC and high-speed digital interfaces
  • Direct experience designing electronics with Xilinx FPGA/SoC, ARM-A core, STM32 MCU, and related peripherals circuits
  • Experience with HDI PCB (up to 20L with blind/ buried vias) and FPC design
  • Experience with SMT soldering and rework
  • Experience with writing VHDL and embedded C/C++ is an asset
  • Proficiency with test and measurement equipment (eg, oscilloscope, DMM, spectrum analyzer, logic analyzer, etc)
  • High volume consumer electronic or health care product design & manufacturing experience
  • Experience working within IEC 60601 Standard, ISO 13485 environment or other regulated sector

Location and Compensation:

Due to the hands-on nature of this role, you will be required to work on-site for the majority of the first 4-6 months of the contract. A hybrid arrangement may be considered thereafter. As a result, we can only consider candidates who are within a commutable distance of our Vancouver, BC office.

This is a one-year fixed-term contract with a strong likelihood of extension upon meeting project deliverables. The salary range for this role is $101,000 - $120,000.

Be Part of a High-Impact Project – You’ll play a key role in creating a more affordable ultrasound solution, making medical imaging more accessible worldwide.

Work for a Three-Time Certified Great Place to Work – Clarius has been recognized three times as a great place to work, and you’ll be joining a company that values innovation, teamwork, and employee well-being.

Workspace: Our modern office features sit/stand desks, various health & wellness facilities, a stocked kitchen, outdoor amenities, on-site daycare, enclosed parking, a free on-site gym and close proximity to a SkyTrain station.
