The Team
The Hardware Tools team is a dedicated team of hardware engineers, partly located in Oslo, Norway. We are responsible for delivering world-class development tools for Silicon Labs’ current and future portfolio of wireless devices and microcontrollers.
Our tasks cover all aspects of hardware development, from design specification to following up our contract manufacturer, ensuring timely delivery of around 150 different development kit types to customers worldwide. We also design our own hardware infrastructure for circuit board production tests.
The Role
We are seeking a Hardware engineer with a background in embedded systems design. Key responsibilities will be hardware development, from architecture development through schematic capture, PCB design, and prototype validation in the lab.

Education and Experience:
MS in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent education) we are open from fresh graduation level up to 2-4 years of professional experience in electronics design. An advanced degree or extensive relevant experience may reduce the minimum experience required.
Qualifications:
- Embedded system designer, knowledgeable in all phases of electronic circuit design, including manufacturing and production testing
- Experience/knowledge in low-power design techniques
- Proficiency with schematic capture tools
- Genuine interest in automation and scripting
- Good understanding of embedded software, or the desire to learn more about the interaction between hardware, firmware and software in an embedded system
It is an advantage if you have:
- Experience using Altium Designer
- Knowledge of programming languages like C and Python
- Knowledge of microcontrollers and wireless microcontrollers
