Hardware Development Engineer - RF

Duties & Responsibilities:

We are seeking a Hardware Development Engineer for our Lenexa office in the Greater Kansas City Area. You will be responsible for designing electronic circuits and RF systems for next generation avionics test equipment, and radio test equipment.

• Responsible for the design and development of RF hardware systems that include: Printed and lumped element filters, RF mixers, LNA's, and high speed DAC's and ADC's.
• Proficient with using general test equipment (e.g. multimeters, oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators).
• Design test boards or fixtures to aid in board bring-up and PCBA testing
• Research and select components to meet electrical engineering design needs
• Test designed circuits and document the test results.
• Find technical root cause and suggest corrective action for given problems
• Provide estimates on level of effort for design projects and execute designs to meet development schedules.
• Evaluate new options of similar technology. offer suggestions to improve processes and provide comments and suggestions in design reviews.

Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:

Qualifications

• BSEE (Master’s degree a plus), or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of hardware design experience preferred.
• Proficient in using ECAD tools such as Cadence or Mentor Graphics
• Basic skills for designing RF circuits.
• Excellent communication skills required.
• Experience with power and signal integrity simulation, synthesis, place-and-route tools preferred.
• Experience with RF systems, avionics, communications or test equipment design preferred.
