At Silver Fern Farms we know the importance of producing quality, certified halal meat available to our customers around the world. We are seeking our next trainee/ back Up Halal Slaughterman to join the wider team at our Te Aroha Plant.
What will we provide:
. A great team that works together and has fun doing it.
. One on one training to bring you up to speed
. Discounted meat sales, annual family day events, overtime opportunities
Hours of Work:
. Usually 37.5 hours per week during peak production season plus overtime opportunities.
. Evening shift falling between 2:50pm - 12:00am
. Day shift falling between 5:30am - 3:00pm
Job Requirements:
. NZQA Record of Learning showing achievements of the Unit Standards 25926, 21623 & 25927
. Previous Halal Slaughterman experience in New Zealand highly desirable
. It is essential that you are a practicing Muslim, with eligibility to live and work in NZ. It is preferable that you are member of an Islamic Society in NZ.
. As you are working in a small team, excellent communication skills and a great team player ethic are required.
. Previous food handling and health and safety knowledge in a production/manufacturing environment would be an advantage.
. Must have eligibility to work in NZ
