Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Cancer Center team. The ideal candidate will have experience or a strong interest in Gynecologic Oncology and will work collaboratively under the supervision of Dr. English and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive assessments including history, physical examinations, interpretation of diagnostic studies of patients with gynecologic cancers (including ovarian, uterine, cervical, vulvar, and vaginal malignancies)
Conduct independent and collaborative patient visits in outpatient clinics, inpatient units, and procedural areas.
Order and interpret laboratory studies, imaging and pathology
Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans with collaborating physician
Provide patient education on disease management, lifestyle modifications, and medication management
Managing symptoms related to cancer and treatments (pain, nausea, fatigue, etc.)
Managing treatment side effects and complications
Arranging referrals and follow-ups
Supporting end-of-life care when needed
Navigating patients through complex treatment plans
Staying current with oncology guidelines and research
Assist with hospital rounding, consults, and discharge planning
Assist with hospital rounds on post-op patients and be able to manage complications: ileus, infections, DVT, wound issues, pain control fluids, electrolytes
Participate in care coordination with other providers and specialties.
Document all patient encounters thoroughly and accurately in the Electronic Medical Record
Maintain compliance with organizational policies, regulatory guidelines, and best practice standards.
Participate in weekend hospital rounding schedule
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program
Certification by NCCPA
Current Physician Assistant license in the State of Florida.
BLS/ACLS
Preferred Skills:
Experience in Oncology and/or Ob/Gyn
1-3 years of relevant clinical experience including
Gynecologic cancers (ovarian, cervical, uterine, vulvar)
Chemotherapy management
Post-op surgical care
Cancer surveillance
First Assist experience with Robotics a plus
Epic Electronic Medical Record
