About the role
As a Guidewire Lead Consultant, you will be the technical and functional anchor on our clients' Guidewire programmes, from greenfield implementations to Guidewire Cloud migrations. You will turn P&C business needs into solution designs that work and follow Guidewire standards, lead a team of technical analysts and developers, and act as the trusted day-to-day advisor to client stakeholders.
You will also look ahead. You will track Guidewire's biannual cloud releases, assess what each one means for the client's roadmap, and help the business see the value of adopting new capability rather than customising around it.
What you will do
• Solution design: Lead end-to-end technical design across PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter and/or BillingCenter. Own the configure-vs-customise decision and keep designs consistent across workstreams.
• Requirements and workshops: Facilitate discovery workshops and fit-gap sessions. Support BAs in turning business requirements into user stories, functional specs and technical specs.
• Build oversight: Oversee configuration, product model, UI, rules, workflows and integrations. Run design and code reviews against Guidewire best practice.
• Integration: Shape integration patterns with rating engines, document generation, payments, CRM, data platforms and third-party data providers, using Cloud APIs, App Events, messaging and plugins.
• Release readiness: Assess each upcoming Guidewire release for impact and value, and feed it into release plans and upgrade paths.
• Issue resolution: Be the escalation point for complex technical and functional defects across SIT, UAT and hypercare.
• Team leadership: Mentor and motivate technical analysts and developers, and contribute to the practice's Guidewire accelerators and assets.
• Documentation: Produce and maintain solution designs, technical specs, process flows and operational handover materials.
What you will bring
Guidewire• 8+ years in insurance technology, with at least 5 years on Guidewire implementations and at least 2 full lifecycles in a lead or design authority role.

• Strong product model/Product Designer, rules and the integration framework.
• Exposure to Guidewire Cloud Platform and an on-premise to cloud upgrade.
• Guidewire certification (Associate/Specialist/ACE) preferred.
P&C insurance domain• Policy: The full policy lifecycle, including quote, bind, issue, mid-term adjustments, renewals, cancellations and reinstatements; rating and underwriting referrals, product and coverage structures, and forms.
• Claims: FNOL through to settlement, including triage and segmentation, exposures and reserving, payments, recoveries, subrogation, salvage, litigation and fraud referral.
• Billing: Direct and agency bill, instalment plans, commissions, collections, and delinquency and write-off.
• Lines of business: Experience in at least one of personal lines (motor, home), commercial lines (property, casualty, fleet) or specialty.
• London market and regulation: Awareness of Lloyd's and the London market (MGAs, delegated authority, bordereaux, coverholders, ACORD standards) and of the regulatory context (FCA Consumer Duty, Solvency II, IFRS 17 data implications) is a strong plus.
• Reinsurance: Reinsurance touchpoints such as treaty and facultative arrangements and ceded recoveries.
Delivery and consulting• Experience with Agile (Scrum/SAFe) and Waterfall, and with hybrid delivery on multi-vendor programmes.
• Clear, confident communication with business users, underwriters, claims handlers and IT leadership.
• A background in process re-engineering or change management.
