Job Description
Principal Responsibilities:
· Implement and promote system level solutions based on customer product needs with an emphasis on microcontroller product portfolio from different suppliers.
· Proactively develops knowledge to uncover, understand, compare, and contrast solutions (Pre-component Selection). Provide valuable participation in customer design review with Avnet engineering team.
· Good understanding of customer needs relative to product(s), technology, direction, competition, design process, and design cycle.
· Discover design requirements from the system level down to each individual element collaborating with Avnet engineering to develop and execute technical strategies that solve customer design challenges.
· Technical support on Avnet franchised products to engineering team by driving adoption of advocated solutions that meet customer needs and lead to increased design activity, design wins and sales growth.
· A thorough understanding of product lifecycles and the ability to design a full solution based on the customers’ expectation of product performance, lifecycles and total costs.
· Attend internal and external technical training to complete and maintain supplier certifications as necessary.
Job Level Specifications:
- A strong background and knowledge in embedded systems with an emphasis in one or more of the following disciplines
- Experience in hardware and software design for embedded applications.
- Embedded systems design and architecture.
- Design expertise in SoC, memory, power supply, sensors and analog design.
- Knowledge in other areas listed below is a plus.
- Industrial and consumer communication interfaces/protocols (SPI, I2C, USB, CAN, etc.)
- Proficient in the use of laboratory equipment, scopes, logic analyzers, etc.
- Embedded C programing.
- Familiar with MCUs, MPUs and FGPAs architectures is a plus.
- Thorough knowledge and frequent application of electronics design standards, principles, concepts and techniques.
- Develops solutions to a wide variety of problems and works on projects requiring evaluation and analysis. Applies technical knowledge when determining which solutions are best applied.
- Work is performed independently. May receive limited guidance on new assignments, and work may be reviewed for overall technical adequacy.
- Interacts mostly with internal company contacts. May represents department across organization or externally on projects.
- Actions impact the completion of milestones of our customer’s projects. Failure to accomplish work or poor decisions may result in delays to a project and require additional resources to remedy. ‘
Education and Certification(s):
- One year remaining before graduating from university.
- Coursing BSEE or similar bachelor’s degree.
