Position Summary

The Construction Project Manager IV leads complex, high-value design and construction projects for government facilities. This role oversees all phases from planning through occupancy while managing scope, budget, schedule, and contractor performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage construction projects from planning through closeout
  • Develop and maintain project plans, cost estimates, schedules, and procurement strategies
  • Serve as on-site project manager, overseeing daily field operations and resolving issues
  • Review and approve design documents, submittals, and project deliverables
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, life safety standards, and quality requirements
  • Provide technical expertise across building systems and construction practices
  • Coordinate with A/E firms, contractors, and government stakeholders
  • Lead project meetings and maintain strong stakeholder communication
  • Travel to project sites as needed

 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field; and/or ten years of experience managing design and construction projects.
  • Master’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of building design, construction methods, and commercial building systems, with the ability to solve complex technical and project challenges.
  • Proficiency in project management principles, construction scheduling, cost estimating, reading and interpreting construction documents, and writing scopes of work and specifications.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with customers, acquisition staff, contractors, financial managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple high-value projects simultaneously.
  • Advanced computer skills and familiarity with project management and estimating software.
