[ Your Mission ]

Grow eComm Revenue Efficiently! 

Serve as a passionate and visionary partner to shape and implement Bokksu’s comprehensive marketing strategy and brand positioning within the snacking arena. As Marketing Director, you embody strategic and systems thinking, creative innovation, and respected leadership. You'll delve deep into understanding our customers' desires and needs. By crafting marketing strategies and campaigns, you'll ensure our customers are at the heart of every brand experience, cultivating engagement, delight, and advocacy.

This role requires working at least 3 days a week from our Tokyo office in the Shinjuku neighborhood.

[ Your Responsibilities ]

  • Strategic Leadership – Own, develop, and manage integrated campaigns and systems that support them to balance long-term brand building with short-term revenue goals.
  • Creative Pipelines - Proven ability to develop a systematic approach to creative development to produce 50+ new ads a month per brand.
  • Full-Funnel Growth – Lead performance marketing strategies across paid social, search, and emerging digital channels (Meta, Google, Bing, CTV, direct mail, audio), including budgeting, bidding strategies, targeting, A/B testing, and creative optimization.
  • Brand Storytelling & Community – Collaborate with creative, PR, and influencer teams to craft compelling brand narratives and amplify Bokksu’s presence across social and earned media.
  • Budget Management – Oversee and manage the marketing budget across all channels, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to meet KPIs
  • Marketing KPIs – Robust management of ROAS targets and CaC to LTV ratio to ensure efficient acquisition and per-order profitability.
  • Product & Retail Marketing – Support product launches and retail initiatives through strategic go-to-market plans and engaging experiential campaigns.
  • Team Collaboration – Lead and mentor a cross-functional marketing team while partnering closely with brand, creative, and finance teams to drive company-wide alignment.
  • Tasty Trends – Stay abreast of industry trends in customer products and eComm to identify new acquisition and engagement opportunities.
  • Customer Insights & Analytics – Use data and customer insights to refine targeting, measure performance, and guide decision-making for continuous improvement.
  • Test, Test, Test – Conduct experiments on creative in a methodical and strategic approach, sharing insights with the creative team and running new batches of creative every 1-2 weeks based on learnings.
  • Data-Driven Activist – Analyze campaign data to provide actionable insights for future strategies and optimizations, as well as to keep senior leadership updated on performance.

[ Your Qualifications ]

  • 7–10 years of experience in marketing, with a blend of brand and performance marketing expertise, ideally in e-commerce or CPG.
  • Business-level proficiency in English.
  • The candidate must already be based in Japan.
  • Proven ability to lead high-performing marketing teams and manage multi-million-dollar budgets.
  • Deep knowledge of digital advertising platforms (Meta, Google Ads, etc.) and attribution models.
  • Strong creative instincts with a passion for storytelling and customer experience.
  • Analytical thinker with a data-driven mindset and comfort making decisions under ambiguity.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field; advanced degree a plus.
  • Affinity for Japanese culture, pop culture, or global snacking trends a strong plus.
