Slack is hiring a lifecycle marketing manager to play a critical and strategic role in our self-service marketing funnel. This role will work closely with marketing, product, and operations teams to help craft, deploy, measure, and iterate on marketing initiatives that positively impact our ability to help more users to successfully work in Slack.
You will optimize core customer journey touchpoints, particularly email nurture, experienced by a large audience of Slack users daily. This is a great opportunity for a creative, results driven individual to have a major impact on a strategic pillar of Slack’s business. An experimentation and customer-centric approach is critical.
We are looking for a proven track record of driving key business metrics, measurable experimentation pipelines, and winning marketing campaigns. There will be a high degree of collaboration with other teams to plan and execute cross-channel projects, particularly around email marketing and coordination. An ideal candidate will have experience not only in the technical aspects of email marketing but also driving email strategy to meet business goals and/or building engaging lifecycle programs in high growth organizations. Experience with other marketing channels (ads, web, in-app messaging, etc.) is a plus.
Responsibilities & Impact
Develop and Execute Lifecycle Strategies: Design and execute multi-channel (email, push notification, in-product messaging, etc.) lifecycle programs that leverage Slack's product experience to nurture users, drive adoption, and convert them into loyal, paying customers.
Customer Segmentation and Personalization: Develop and refine customer segmentation strategies to deliver personalized and relevant messaging at each stage of the customer lifecycle.
Optimize ongoing campaigns: Ability to maintain existing lifecycle programs and drive project execution from drafting email marketing briefs to launch
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with product marketing, product management, and operations teams to ensure proper messaging, timing, and execution of one-off and ongoing email campaigns
Experimentation and Innovation: Execute and analyze creative A/B test plans to improve engagement performance and conversion rates
Data driven: Work with our analytics team to measure each experiment, document and socialize findings, and develop next steps toward future iterations
Voice of the Customer: Champion the voice of the customer within the organization, ensuring that lifecycle marketing efforts are aligned with customer needs and preferences.
Required Skills:
Experience: 5-7 years of email marketing or product growth experience in a B2B SaaS environment
PLG Expertise: Understanding of product-led growth principles and experience in leveraging product experiences to drive customer acquisition, activation, and retention.
Lifecycle marketing skills: Demonstrated experience planning and executing programs particularly adoption, cross-sell, and upsell and an understanding of marketing channels like email, advertising and in-app messaging
Marketing Technology Proficiency: Proficiency in marketing automation platforms , CRM systems, and analytics tools.
Organization and efficiency: You can manage sophisticated marketing projects and own them from start to finish
Analytical Skills: Advanced analytical skills including A/B testing, cohort analysis, and conversion rate optimization
Communication Skills: Effective communication with peers and senior leaders
Collaboration Skills: Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with cross-functional teams.
Customer-Centric Mindset: A passion for understanding customer behavior and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences.
BA/BS degree
Preferred Skills:
Experience with BI tools, web analytics software, and other analytical tools
Product marketing experience
Expertise working in self-service growth businesses
Expertise in Salesforce products, specifically Salesforce Marketing Cloud
Outstanding organizational skills to define and balance multiple projects with tight deadlines effectively within a dynamic environment.

The typical base salary range for this position is $155,400 - $213,800 annually. In select cities within the San Francisco and New York City metropolitan area, the base salary range for this role is $169,600 - $233,200 annually.
The range represents base salary only, and does not include company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity or benefits, as applicable.
