The Growth Events Coordinator will play a key role in driving awareness and engagement for STEAM Academy’s after-school robotics programs. This dynamic position is responsible for leading and coordinating various events that promote the program to students, parents, and school communities. Key Responsibilities:

  1. STEAM Pro Days:
    • Lead engaging and informative assemblies for groups of students to showcase the STEAM Academy’s after-school robotics program.
    • Speak to students and teachers in a lively, motivating, and approachable manner about the benefits of STEAM education, emphasizing the after-school robotics program.
    • Coordinate with school administration to schedule and set up assemblies.
  2. Classroom Visits:
    • Visit classrooms to briefly introduce students and teachers to STEAM Academy’s after-school robotics offerings.
    • Deliver short (5-10 minute) presentations in a way that is engaging, clear, and relatable for young students.
    • Create excitement and interest by discussing hands-on activities, competitions, and the benefits of learning robotics.
  3. Parking Lot Visits (Parent Outreach):
    • Engage with parents during pick-up times to inform them about the STEAM Academy after-school program.
    • Provide program details, answer questions, and encourage parents to enroll their children.
    • Maintain a positive and friendly demeanor to foster trust and interest in the program.
  4. Parent Events:
    • Attend and represent STEAM Academy at various parent-focused events, including sporting events, school fairs, and tabled events.
    • Set up and manage booths, hand out informational materials, and engage with parents to drive awareness and interest in the program.
    • Be prepared to discuss the program’s value proposition and answer parent inquiries.
  5. Event Planning and Coordination:
    • Assist in the logistics, scheduling, and execution of events.
    • Collaborate with the internal team to ensure that all necessary materials (e.g., flyers, brochures, sign-up sheets, and promotional items) are available for each event.
    • Collect feedback and insights from event participants to help refine outreach strategies and improve future events.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Excellent Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication, public speaking, and interpersonal skills to engage with students, parents, and school staff effectively.
  • Engaging Personality: Able to connect with diverse audiences, especially children and parents, in an enthusiastic and professional manner.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple events and responsibilities with attention to detail, and to meet deadlines.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Quick thinker, capable of adjusting plans and approaches to meet the needs of different audiences and environments.
  • Sales Mindset: Ability to persuade and inspire families to enroll their children in the after-school robotics program.
  • Self-Motivated: Comfortable working independently, with a proactive and results-oriented attitude.
  • Flexible and Adaptable: Willing to work evenings and weekends to accommodate school schedules and parent events.
  • Basic Computer Skills: Comfortable using email, spreadsheets, and event planning software as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in event coordination, outreach, or public speaking.
  • Background in education, STEM fields, or related programs.
  • Knowledge of robotics, STEAM education, or after-school programming is a plus.
  • Familiarity with the local community and school districts.
