Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Growth Engineer to support our Federal Sales, Capture Management, and Proposal Management teams. This individual will play a pivotal role in driving growth in the federal sector by assisting in developing and executing strategies for winning new business, managing key proposal efforts, and supporting the capture process. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, a strong understanding of federal procurement processes, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Support: Assist in identifying new business opportunities within the federal sector by analyzing market trends, identifying key stakeholders, and performing competitive assessments.
- Capture Management: Support capture managers in identifying, qualifying, and shaping federal opportunities to align with company capabilities, preparing for key meetings with decision-makers, and ensuring strategies are aligned with federal client needs.
- Proposal Management: Coordinate with proposal managers and technical teams to develop winning proposals, ensuring all technical, past performance, and cost elements are well-integrated.
- Bid Strategy & Solution Development: Work closely with federal sales and technical teams to develop solution strategies tailored to federal clients. Contribute technical insights that shape the development of win themes, technical approaches, and differentiators.
- Customer Relationship Management: Support the development and maintenance of relationships with federal clients, ensuring an understanding of their mission, needs, and challenges.
- Government Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure all activities align with federal regulations, including FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation), DFARS (Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement), and other relevant federal procurement policies.
- Collaboration & Reporting: Collaborate with marketing, business development, and technical teams to ensure timely delivery of proposals and responses. Track and report on key performance metrics, including win rates, proposal quality, and capture performance.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in sales, capture management, or proposal management, ideally within a technology or engineering-focused company.
- Experience in federal procurement processes, including understanding of RFPs, RFQs, and government contracting regulations.
- Previous technical background or understanding of engineering or IT solutions is highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of the federal acquisition lifecycle and sales pipeline management.
- Excellent communication, technical writing, and presentation skills.
- Proficient in using CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics) and proposal management software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative, cross-functional team.
- Certifications: Certifications in Capture Management or Proposal Management (e.g., APMP) are a plus.
