About the Team
Alaska Seeds of Change provides horticultural programming and flexible activity spaces for AKBH providers to utilize with their clients.
Our team maintains the growing systems, hydroponic operations, and shared environments that make these opportunities possible. In addition to cultivating plants and sustaining productive growing spaces, Seeds staff support in developing workplace and operational skills through hands-on learning experiences.
By preparing and maintaining activity spaces, supporting therapeutic and educational programming, and fostering meaningful opportunities for participation, Seeds of Change helps create an environment where individuals can learn, contribute, build confidence, and grow alongside their communities.
Position Summary
The Growth Coordinator supports the core operations of our hydroponic and outdoor growing systems, performing essential tasks such as planting, harvesting, packaging, and general maintenance. This position helps maintain functional, clean, and welcoming growing spaces that support Seeds operations and activities. The Growth Coordinator provides daily direction and hands-on training to the Operations Associates and Apprentices, supports their skill development, and works closely with the Service Coordinator to translate scheduled activity needs into organized staffing, space, station, and material preparation.
What You’ll Do
- Coordinate daily hydroponic greenhouse, and outdoor growing operations, including plant care, crop planning, harvesting, systems maintenance.
- Provide daily directions, training, and support to Operations Associates and Apprentices.
- Maintain safe, organized, and functional growing spaces, equipment, supplies, and activity stations.
- Work closely with the Service Coordinator to prepare growing spaces and plant-based activities for scheduled groups, field trips, volunteers, and other scheduled use of Seeds.
- Lead or support hands-on horticultural activities, tours, field trips, and other Seeds activities as needed.
- Collaborate with the Program Manager and Service Coordinator to support smooth day-to-
- day operations and program coverage.

- Full-Time, Non-Exempt
- Pay Range: $25.00 - $31.97
- Typical schedule is Monday – Friday. Schedule may vary based on activities or operational needs

- AKBH offers generous benefits including two healthcare options for employees and their dependent children, 401k with immediate vesting and up to 5% match, 4% automatically contributed by AKBH. PTO is accrued at the rate of five (5) weeks of PTO for the first year; eight (8) weeks of PTO after the first year. PTO is used for recognized holidays.

Education: Bachelor’s degree
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or 5 + years' experience in coordinating and leading groups
- Strong background in horticulture, greenhouse operations, or sustainable agriculture
- Experience supervising staff or youth in a work-based or educational setting
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Adaptability to work in a changing environment with diverse populations
