Group Technology Director

Technology is woven into all of R/GA’s offerings, from consulting to marketing innovation, to product and service co-creation and R/GA Ventures. The department operates as a horizontal across the R/GA global network, affording clients and partners scale and flexibility in tapping into diverse talent. The department is broadly focused on software solutions, from mobile and web apps to advanced analytics and machine learning, to marketing and commerce platforms, across both B2B and B2C channels. Inherent in the process is deep expertise in the Software Development Life Cycle, including DevOps, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery, Product Development methodologies—the foundational ingredients in successful digital transformation and client partnership.

• Strategic & Visionary Leadership: Define and drive the technology strategy in alignment with business goals, ensuring innovation and scalability.
• Business & Financial Acumen: Oversee budgets and financial planning for technology initiatives, ensuring alignment with company priorities and revenue targets.
• Stakeholder & Client Management: Serve as a trusted advisor to senior clients, guiding high-level discussions and ensuring technology solutions align with their needs.
• Team Leadership & Development: Mentor and develop technology teams, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring continuous learning and growth.
• Operational Execution & Efficiency: Oversee technology projects, ensuring quality execution, process improvements, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Problem Solving & Change Management: Navigate evolving business needs, drive innovation, and help teams adapt to complex challenges.

• Design enterprise architecture solutions for world-class clients in a creatively-driven global agency.
• Manage the development of all projects for an account and strategies for an array of different clients.
• Interact and present in front of senior clients and potential clients.
• Negotiate and resolve occasional business conflicts and address organizational challenges and evolving accountability.
• Develop trust and close relationships with mid-level and operational client stakeholders and partners.

• Holds previous technology consulting experience.
• Is a natural leader with strong communication skills.
• Helps senior agency colleagues drive new business and agency growth.
• Experience with multiple development methodologies such as Waterfall, Agile, or other iterative models.
• Demonstrable leadership abilities in changing, ambiguous, and challenging situations.
• Excellent presentation, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• In-depth understanding of technical issues related to web development.
• Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
• In-depth understanding of technical issues related to website management.

• 12+ years of professional work experience in web and emerging platforms, ideally in large-scale management of high-traffic customer-facing enterprise platforms.
• Previous technology consulting experience.
• Expertise in one or more industry-standard backend programming languages such as Java, Node, and Python.
• Understanding of cloud computing applications and platforms.
• Understanding of mobile application development, iOS and Android.
• Strong grasp of digital technologies and architectural principles necessary for designing scalable, extensible, and maintainable web applications and services.
• Passion for web and emerging technology and software development lifecycle, including current industry trends and their application.
