Position: Group Tax Controller

Opportunity exists within a Customer Trading Company, Corporate Head Office to be part of the Corporate Finance Team as Group Tax Controller.
Reporting directly to the Corporate Finance Manager, this role will lead the statutory reporting & tax function for the Company’s Group and deliver Group reporting requirements in timely manner. The role is required to drive a performance culture aimed to achieving the reporting requirements and provide support to stakeholders efficiently.
Key Accountabilities
- Administration: Provide general support to, and back up for the Corporate Finance Manager and coaching to the Group Tax Officers.
- Operations: Keep track of the tax compliance certificates, certificate of compliance & timely submission of tax lodgements (GST, SWT, BIPT, IWT, FCWT, MFWT, DWT). Must also, Identify and implement best practice and standardisation in further development of tax compliance, statutory financial reporting and other finance processes.
- Tax and Statutory Reporting: Perform all activities and tasks relating to Tax and Statutory Reporting. Actively participate in External Audit and accounting policy implementation, whilst ensuring that no recurring issues are found in the audit report. Provide assistance in the preparation of financial board papers for quarterly board and audit committee meetings.
- Communication and Relationship Building: Develop and maintain effective working relationship with External Auditors & Tax Agent, Internal Revenue Commission to address tax related matters, issues and compliance. Furthermore, effectively communicate with all levels and coordinate with all divisions.
- Leadership and People Development: Lead and manage Group Tax & Statutory Reporting function while rendering support to the Corporate Finance team at Head Office. Conduct Performance evaluation, coaching and development of direct reports.
The ideal candidate for this role must be able to work under pressure and good attention to details is a must. The position requires a self-motivated starter who can independently execute/implement initiatives and interact with all levels in the organisation with minimal supervision.
Skills, Qualification and Experience required:
- Graduate Degree & CPA qualified
- 7 years previous experience in financial & regulatory reporting in a large group of companies and managing a small team
- Proficient with Microsoft excel (advanced)
- Previous experience in Pronto would be an advantage
