KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
· Design, develop, and operate backend services for real-time signal ingestion, event processing, alarm evaluation, and safety logic using Java and Spring. · Implement event-driven microservices that consume and produce real-time data streams via messaging platforms. · Ensure low-latency, high-availability processing of operational signals in a distributed production environment. · Develop and maintain real-time Web UI components using React and WebSocket to visualize operational status, alarms, and alerts. · Collaborate with platform, data, and infrastructure teams to ensure service reliability, observability, and operational stability. · Participate in on-call support, incident analysis, and continuous improvement of production systems. · Contribute to code reviews, technical discussions, and architectural alignment within the Smart Solutions platform.
OTHER · Act as an ambassador for DP World at all times when working; promoting and demonstrating positive behaviours in harmony with DP World’s Founder’s Principles, values and culture; ensuring the highest level of safety is applied in all activities; understanding and following DP World’s Code of Conduct and Ethics policies · Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Education & Qualifications:
· Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
· Strong academic record with a keen interest in Web Development, Software Engineering, System
Architecture, and Database Management.
Experience:
· Approximately 4–5 years of professional software development experience.
· Proven experience developing and supporting Java and Spring-based applications in production
environments.
· Practical experience delivering both backend services and web-based user interfaces in full stack
development roles.
Skills:
· Strong hands-on development capability in Java and Spring / Spring Boot.
· Good understanding of event-driven microservice architecture and asynchronous communication
patterns.
· Experience designing or implementing services for real-time signal processing, alarm handling, event
correlation, or safety-related logic.
· Practical experience with React for operational web UI development.
· Experience using WebSocket or similar real-time communication mechanisms between backend services
and web clients.
· Familiarity with containerized deployment environments and production support practices is preferred.
· Familiarity with Kafka, PostgreSQL, TimescaleDB, OpenSearch, Grafana, or similar platform
technologies.
· English communication skills sufficient for understanding technical documents and participating in basic
meetings (expected level: OPIc IM3 or equivalent). · Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions. · Deal well with ambiguous/undefined problems; ability to think abstractly.
