Position Overview

Autodesk is transforming the Architecture, Engineering, Construction, and Owner (AECO) industry by integrating advanced Generative AI and neural CAD technology into products such as AutoCAD, Revit, Construction Cloud, and Forma.

As Group Product Manager for Generative AI, you will lead a team of product managers to define and deliver the next generation of AI-powered capabilities across Autodesk’s AEC portfolio. You’ll partner closely with AI researchers, ML engineers, designers, and industry experts to shape product vision and strategy, ensuring the seamless integration of foundation models into Autodesk’s industry cloud solutions.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment, enjoys solving complex customer problems, and can balance multiple priorities while maintaining a clear strategic direction.

This position reports to the Head of Generative AI within the AECO organization. You will directly manage a group of Product Managers. Autodesk supports flexible, hybrid work arrangements, with key offices located near Boston, Massachusetts, or Toronto, Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Guide and refine product strategy, vision, and roadmap for generative AI capabilities in AEC solutions, constantly reacting to new industry demands and evolving company goals

  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of product managers, fostering a collaborative and resilient culture that thrives amid continual change. Empower teams to meet ambitious milestones and deliver impactful results with agility

  • Product Lifecycle Management: Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of industry-specific foundation models—from research and ideation to launch and continuous improvement— ensuring seamless integration of Generative AI to drive high-value, connected workflows

  • Customer Engagement: Partner with customers, partners, and internal teams to create actionable product plans that improve Generative AI workflows, uncover pain points, and connect experiences across the portfolio

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with research, engineering, design, marketing, and strategy teams to deliver cohesive product experiences and align priorities internally and externally across functions

  • Market & Trend Analysis: Stay ahead of AI and AEC industry trends, identifying emerging technologies and competitive opportunities to enhance Autodesk’s offerings

  • Stakeholder Communication: Clearly communicate strategy, progress, and outcomes to executive and cross-functional stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in software product management, including at least 3 years in a leadership or group manager role overseeing multiple product managers and/or engineers

  • Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Business, Computer Science, or a related field

  • Proven expertise in delivering commercially-available generative AI, machine learning, and cloud-native solutions. Exhibiting sound business judgment regarding the value and risks of artificial intelligence, cloud services, and data offerings, especially in settings where ambiguity and change are constant

  • Deep understanding of AEC industry workflows and the ability to navigate evolving customer needs

  • Familiarity with foundation models (LLMs), generative models, and transformer-based architectures

  • Awareness of responsible and ethical AI principles

  • Strong leadership and team development skills, with experience fostering collaboration across disciplines

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with experience in large multi-disciplinary teams

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and adapt to multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Formal product management training (e.g., SVPG or equivalent)

  • Experience applying AI technologies in commercial or enterprise software products

  • Prior professional experience in Architecture or related AEC fields, including understanding of AEC industry workflows

  • Business degree or equivalent experience in product strategy or management

The Ideal Candidate

  • You’re an exceptional communicator who can translate complex technical concepts into simple, actionable insights

  • You’ve led a Generative AI product from research through commercial launch

  • You balance strategic vision with hands-on product management

  • You build strong cross-functional partnerships and navigate ambiguity and deadlines with confidence
