Group Product Manager, Digital Account Opening

About the Role

Clutch is on a mission to turn credit unions into fintechs — giving them the technology and member experience to compete with the best in the market.

Our Digital Account Opening (DAO) product is core to that mission. Since launch in 2023, it has driven adoption, membership growth, and market leadership. But we’re just getting started: in the next 12 months DAO must scale to XXX+ credit unions, expand in-branch, and become a unified and differentiated banking platform when combined with Lending.

We’re hiring a Product Leader to lead this next stage. This is a player-coach role: you’ll be the hands-on PM for one pod while also coaching and leveling up 3 PMs. You will be a strong liaison between Product, Engineering and GTM teams.

You’ll drive execution in the near term while setting the long-term strategy, balancing parity, platform consistency, and customer sentiment.

What You’ll Do

Within 3 months, you will:

• Ownership & Drive: Ramp rapidly on Clutch’s products, customers, and industry while taking direct ownership of one AO product and teams.

• Execution Excellence: Ship features and deliver smooth go-lives for new credit unions.

• Coaching: Build trust with existing PMs and help hire new AO PMs.

• Platform Thinking: Work collaboratively with other PMs

Within 6 months, you will:

• Judgment: Be recognized as a trusted product leader, making clear tradeoffs between urgent customer escalations and long-term platform needs.

• GTM Judgment: Act as a thought partner to Sales and CX, shaping customer strategy and managing escalations with confidence.

• Coaching: Level up your PMs’ ability to drive discovery ahead of delivery.

• Platform Thinking: Drive tighter integration of AO with Lending building and leveraging shared platform components

Within 9 months, you will:

• Strategic Judgment: Identify new opportunities within and beyond AO.

• Platform Execution: Operationalize platform consistency — enforcing reuse over rebuild across Consumer and Business AO.

• Leadership: Strengthen AO’s role as a growth driver for Clutch, with measurable impact on adoption, retention, and NRR.

• Coaching: Build a high-functioning AO PM team with strong clarity, judgment, and ownership.

What You'll Bring

• Ownership & Drive: Track record of thriving in fast-paced environments; you bring urgency, energy, and follow-through. Good signal is 6+ years of experience in B2B environment, ideally in startups

• Product Judgment: Strong product sense; proven ability to balance short-term needs and long-term platform outcomes. Experienced in scaling products within multi-product ecosystems; can connect strategy to execution across pods.

• GTM Judgment: Able to partner closely with Sales, Customer Success, and GTM leaders to manage escalations, align customers, and maintain sentiment.

• Domain knowledge or rapid ramp: Experience in banking, onboarding, identity, or consumer fintech is valuable — but the ability to learn fast and go deep is essential.
