PURPOSE OF THE ROLE 

The Global Process Owners report to the Group Head of Finance Processes and play a key role in the transformation and standardization of our ways of working. 

Being the design authority as process guardian and control board driving performance, they are also responsible to drive continuous improvement.  

Finally, they manage a process community groupwide in order to drive core model adoption and maintenance and promote best practice sharing 

The Record to Report (R2R)  Group Process Owner (GPO) defines and owns the global Record to Report (R2R) strategy, covering chart of account management, general ledger accounting (incl. inventory, fixed assets, tax and intercompany accounting ), close & consolidation accounting, financial control/reporting, business accounting. 

CONTEXT 

The Finance function is undergoing a major transformation, encompassing all aspects of the function including processes and technology, organization and operating model, talents, and culture.  

Combined in the LIFT program, initiatives span the full scope of Finance, covering transactions processing, performance management and decision making, compliance and risk management. 

The primary objectives are to elevate the Finance function to the next level and to strengthen its role as a business partner. 

LIFT is focused on process and rules standardization, the deployment of stateoftheart core systems, and the use of AI. In this context, a new EPM solution (Apollo) is about to go live. 

POSITIONING 

  • Report : Group head of Finance Processes

  • Role: Cross-functional leadership without direct hierarchical authority  

  • The GPO works in close partnership with Business Unit Financial Directors, the EPM Center of Excellence and the others GPOs 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

R2R Process Guardian & Architect 

  • Define a clear process strategy and roadmap for end-to-end process across the operating model 

  • Design and maintain standard end-to-end process core model (deliverables & templates, business rules, process steps, key controls…) 

  • Ensure compliance with global financial regulations, internal controls, and external regulatory requirements  

  • Collaborate with IT and ERP teams to ensure seamless integration of R2R processes into system architecture 

  • Supervise global enforcement and adoption of standard process core model, taking into consideration regional and local customization requirements 

 

R2R Process Performance driver 

  • Define KPIs and set process performance targets together with Group Finance management 

  • Implement best practices in accounting operations to optimize closing timelines, mitigate financial risks, improve accounting information reliability. 

Continuous improvement leader 

  • Identify and analyze drivers for sub or over-performance; proposing new designs and framed improvement initiatives towards process excellence (time, quality, efficiency, experience) based on business / value case for Group Finance arbitration 

  • Watch technology trends and participating to tools selection 

  • Collaborate with process stakeholders and peer process owners to identify and leverage cross-process synergies  

Change agent 

  • Drive change management to support successful adoption of new tools and processes across teams: 

  • Stakeholder engagement 

  • Communication and education 

  • Adoption monitoring 

  • Support local teams in understanding and applying global standards, while managing justified deviations when needed. 

  • Develop and manage a network of Local Process Experts among Country / BUs (process tribe) to drive core model adoption and maintenance and promote best practice sharing 

 

Management 

  • Lead change management and training initiatives to support successful adoption of new tools and processes across teams.  

  • Create and manage a network of Local Process Experts among Country / Business Units (BUs) and Shared Services

CANDIDATE PROFILE  

Expected background 

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance 

  • At least 8 to 10 years of accounting experience in international environment. 

  • Proven financial audit or management consulting or business process outsourcing experience required 

 

Functional & technical knowledge  

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and local GAAPs 

  • Hands on expertise in corporate tax accounting and intercompany processes and activities 

  • Knowledge of GL accounting and reporting 

  • Experience in working within a Business Services organization (advantageous) 

  • Proven experience in process transformation 

  • Understanding of internal control concepts and audit methodology  

  • Data literacy  

  • Redesign of process for RPA and/or AI is a plus 

  • Lean / six sigma capabilities is a plus
