As our next Group Privacy Lawyer you will be responsible for managing data privacy risks across the Group, ensuring compliance with privacy laws, and driving a strong data privacy culture. You will be advising stakeholders on regulatory developments, overseeing privacy risk management, and integrating privacy solutions into business processes. You will also plays a key role in transactions involving data privacy considerations.
This is a hybrid role, based out of Apeldoorn, the Netherlands. You are invited to work on-site at the office a minimum of one day per week, preferably two. We support your home office set-up, travel costs, and provide flexibility regarding hybrid work.
Privacy Strategy & Compliance:
Develop and execute global privacy initiatives and policies to mitigate privacy risks.
Oversee the implementation and monitoring of privacy programs across the Group.
Assess the impact of privacy laws, regulatory guidance, and enforcement actions on business operations.
Maintain and update the Record of Processing Activities (ROPA) at the Head Office.
Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and manage data breach incidents and data-subject requests.
Training & Culture Development:
Organise and conduct privacy training sessions at the Head Office (HO) and across the Group.
Foster a strong data privacy culture by engaging with teams and promoting awareness.
Maintain and develop a Privacy Contact Persons’ Community across different regions.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Advisory:
Provide expert guidance on privacy risks and compliance to business units.
Collaborate with IT, HR, Legal, Compliance, and other key departments to integrate privacy solutions into business strategies and applications.
Support transactions involving privacy and regulatory compliance.
Monitoring & Reporting:
Track and report on privacy risks, incidents, and compliance status to senior management.
Guide and monitor data-protection activities at the country level.
Master’s degree in Law (preferably with a focus on data protection/privacy law).
5+ years of experience in privacy law and compliance, including GDPR implementation, preferably in a global organization.
Hands-on approach with a high level of energy and initiative.
Strong project management skills with the ability to execute privacy initiatives effectively.
Excellent communication and presentation skills to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Ability to build and maintain relationships across different business functions.
Fluent in English.
Desirable:
Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/E) or Data Protection Officer (DPO) qualification.
Additional language skills (e.g., Dutch, German, French, Italian, Spanish).
