We are seeking a Group Pensions Coordinator to support the effective administration of group pension plans, ensuring accurate processing of contributions, member records, and benefit transactions while delivering timely support to clients and internal stakeholders.

JOB OVERVIEW:
The Pension Co-ordinator is required to competently support the Team Leader and other members of the team; performs assigned tasks efficiently and in accordance with stipulated performance standards. He/she must consistently ensure prompt, reliable and courteous service is delivered to both external and internal customers.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Benefit Payment Processing
• Prepare pension calculations for retirements, refunds, withdrawals and deaths
• Prepare cheque requests for benefits arising
• Prepare journals for benefits arising
2. Regulatory Requirements and Financial Reporting
• Prepare internal and external valuation reports
• Prepare documents/reports for monthly Board Papers and Trustee reports
3. Database Management
• Ensure contribution entries are entered timely and accurately on TOPAS (Pension Plan Administration)
• Ensure that membership details are updated for Pension Plans for monthly reporting
• Ensure that Pension Plan correspondence is filed in a timely manner
4. Client Support
• Prepare Annual Benefit Statements for the respective Pension Plans
• Respond to queries received in a prompt, courteous and appropriate manner or direct the queries appropriately
• Maintain a high degree of familiarity with the statutory and regulatory framework under which pension plans operate
• Ensure that any updates for Pension Plan Wind Ups are provided when required
5. Training
• Train staff on department processes required to complete the necessary tasks
6. Perform any other job-related duties as assigned by the Team Leader Specifications.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
• 5 CXC/CSEC passes including Mathematics and English Language
• 2 A’ Level/CAPE passes including Mathematics
• LOMA 280, 290, ACS 100 and all related parts
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in similar Pension Environment
• 2-3 years of basic accounting knowledge
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT:
As a regulated entity with obligations under the Know Your Employee guidelines, a Certificate of Character is required.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
The Pension Coordinator must be patient, tactful, diplomatic and approachable demonstrated through a friendly disposition. He / She must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of individuals both internal and external, maintaining a calm disposition in difficult situations as well as be able to work within strict deadlines.
