POSITION: Group Leader - SACC Program
REPORTS TO: Site Coordinator
STATUS: School Year, Part time, 2:00 to 6:30 p.m. Summer and vacation hours are extended.
Pay Range: The expected base pay for the position is $15-$20 per hour and may be increased based on other factors, such as language, certifications, etc.
Reports directly to SACC Director.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct supervision to a group of up to 13 school age children grades K1 – 5th, providing for their physical and emotional safety and well being at all times;
- Assist children with homework as needed and provide tutoring services where appropriate;
- Work with Site Coordinator and other program staff to plan and implement a well-rounded and fun curriculum for the site;
- Develop plans to teach literacy, math and health curriculum, or other curriculums as needed or requested;
- Support specialists in other activities who provide lessons such as art, taekwondo, science, etc.;
- Plan and implement other daily group activities as needed showing initiative and creativity, including vacation weeks and holiday program days;
- Help monitor, document, and file group attendance each day;
- Along with the Site Coordinator ensure all program policies, rules, and regulations are enforced;
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions as requested and as required;
- Make daily contact with parents when they pick up their children to share accomplishments of the children and advise of upcoming events;
- Work in a team effort with the Site Coordinator, program staff, and other BSCC staff;
- Perform related duties as required.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Previous experience with a minimum of 1-year experience working with school age children;
- Must meet all EEC licensing requirements for Group Leader;
- Must be dependable and trust-worthy,
- Must be compassionate and sensitive to the needs of children, parents, and coworkers;
- High school diploma required; Associates degree preferred or college credits;
- Spanish Speaking a plus.
